Hi. I understand and appreciate your comment. I should say though, that I was there in April The temperature was around 25-28c and it was not humid. I would say that weather was not a problem. If you were to compare it to cities across Europe, they are packed with tourists (which some cities complain against) even when the temperature is 35c+.

“Unfortunately, your information is highly inaccurate, and this misleads people. The metro passes through all areas of Riyadh, and there is a main station at the airport. As for tourists and locals, they don’t go out for leisure until after sunset due to the heat. Riyadh is a nighttime city, and you will see it remarkably crowded in the evening. Even commercial stores remain open 24 hours. However, in winter, people are present almost all the time.”
@welshmaninasia3 ай бұрын
Wow. What exactly is inaccurate? People told me that the metro doesn't connect to the airport, and I explained that I was just repeating what they said. I discussed the metro network and said that I hope to ride it in the future, when it opens. I was there in April, and the weather was nice during the daytime. I know that nighttime is more popular for locals that work during the day, but there was actually no reason why tourists shouldn't also be around before dark.

Equality has reached much longer in Europe than this insular place.
@welshmaninasia4 ай бұрын
I agree that, whatever continent they're in, all non-democratic countries fall behind when it comes to levels of equality. Rather than knock it, we should be thankful that KSA is investing into tourism and further-integrating with the rest of the world. It's a positive step towards brighter future for everyone.

Great video mate. How do you see things going in Saudi over the next 5 ish years? Improving or deteriorating?
@welshmaninasia4 ай бұрын
For me, the KEY issue not about how much money they spend, but rather how the KSA government operates. It needs to make travel easier and open up visa-free travel to the EU, USA etc. As a (non-EU) Brit, I can pretty-much go visa-free, but I still found their government websites difficult to deal with. I heard that many Chinese tourists are now travelling to KSA. I may add a video about this in the future. Of course, I think having nice hotels is crucial too - which I know if something they're working on.
@violet908216 күн бұрын
@welshmaninasia the Chinese tourists are generally disruptive and inappropriate from my experience encountering them around Riyadh.

Thanks for visiting. As a Saudi, the Al Faisaliah tower viewing bridge is kinda abandoned because: A) No one really goes anywhere during the day because of the heat and how everything is open till very late B)Several restaurants in the tower, including the Globe, have views that are as good if not better than the viewing platform and C) The Kingdom Skybridge is a better view anyway. I think you should try some of the homegrown cafes instead of the global chains. Nearly every street has some sort of boutique coffee shop these days in Riyadh!
@welshmaninasia5 ай бұрын
There's a cafe inside the globe? Maybe that's why I couldn't get into that part..? The Scuplture Cafe is briefly featured in my video about KAFD and I visited a lot of local coffee places in Riyadh. I did go to Starbucks a couple of times and must admit that I went to Costa Coffee pretty often as there is one just outside the Kingdom Tower and the weather in April was pretty nice (when it wasn't raining!). My videos in Riyadh were my first as an amateur youtuber (with no channel at that time), but people there were very friendly and open to chatting with me. I hope to visit more of KSA.
@burningphoneix5 ай бұрын
@@welshmaninasia Yeah, there's a restaurant and a cigar lounge up there. I think they locked the door so people who go to the viewing platform don't just wander in as you need a reservation IIRC. I hope to see you soon back in KSA!
