This score is burned into my memory forever. I love it, still to this day. Probably the most memorable of any film score (for me). And, at points, I will tear up and nearly cry. It's absolutely perfect.

From the opening titles, to the final end credits, I immediately sensed that James Horner's music was unlike anything ever been heard before. It was both revolutionary AND majestic. Star Trek II wouldn't have been the movie it was, without his magnificent score.

The interplay between Khan's theme and the Enterprise theme during the space battles is an absolute masterclass in scoring.

Khan's music sounds similar to Wall Street and the Wolves from Wolfen(1981).

Its one of my most favorite scores ever. I can remember being 15 years old and this score was the spark that made me fall in love with film music. Wrath of Khan has been making the rounds on TV lately and I always watch it. The ending 10 minutes of score, with Spock's death and funeral will always get an emotional response from me.

I've been lookinv for this interview ever since the 1980s! I must have bought the wrong Videotapes/DVDs! I adore music scores and can name scores all the way from the 1920s to the present day. No I would not state this is the best score ever - but it is much closer than many give it credit for - particularly in how the music dramatises battle scenes - and steers the audience through the themes of the story with suprsingly intelligent simplicity in themes and yet gorgeously complex and evocative orchestration! James Horner is my hero!

Absolutely his best work imo - really added to the atmosphere of the scenes, even going so far as creating pseudo theme music for the main characters

I saw clips from the movie _Krull (1983)_ a year or so ago (or maybe watched it again), but it sounds something like the score for _Star Trek II_ and it's by James Horner, too. I'd be interested to see a video with James Horner talking about making that score.

He made an Oscar winning score for a good horror movie, and a good horror score for an abysmal horror movie, namely the Haunting

Why is British accent so f'kd up? The subtitles say "mugged", I hear "mugged" and what she said was apparently "mobbed"! Of course "mugged" in that (extremely likely made up) story doesn't make any sense!

James spoke in a more Gr. Britain style of English?! (At least that kind of impression, his English are giving me here)...Wow! I didn't knew that! I'm impressed! Dear James...we mis you terribly, all over the world! May God rest your soul, and we thank you for the incredible music you gave us! Our love and respect to you, from your fans here in Greece.

Heck, in ST-III the score to the crew stealing Enterprise from spacedock=It's basically just a 'station-wagon backing out of a garage' but the music makes the scene EPIC.
