I just learned that this exists two weeks ago and my inner child couldn't be happier. There's a bit of a curve learning the proper mechanics, but thankfully a lot of the skills from BW and SC2 transfer over very well.

It's crazy how allied team only had 2 guys frontline one of them quickly losing his com and had no units on the field for ages only 1 llt looks like, and enemy team didn't even try to push or leak or scout anything while 4v1 lol The meta in this game is really weird and passive compared to some other RTS Ive played over the years, try playing like that in SC aoe2 or CoH, ud be dead at the 5 minutes mark. 😅

I'm not a fan of how passive he got the second he won his sea, even T1 hovercraft lab throwing random units along their coast and maybe finding holes to damage eco would have done a lot without costing much, if you keep the enemies attention they will waste brain cycles and apm reacting even if its minor incursions, but if you don't do a single thing they can just keep turbo eco-ing right off the beach and you don't have actually accomplished much at that point. No sea radars close to their shores either to see if they are massing something or what. Scouting in general seems always underused in this game despite all the tools being there for it with minimal cost... Even staying strictly on sea T2 battleships and cruise missile boats covered with a bunch of AA boats can cleanup anything in their range and even go back to cause attrition on the middle lane at some point.

Alright, after watching a dozen BAR videos, here are my problems with the game, in descending order: Everything blows up way too fast. Higher tier buildings are not particularly more sturdy than lower tier ones. Makes the game very swingy. Resource gathering is way too exponential, if someone is let to eco, they can pump out shit way too fast compared to someone who focused on fighting. This makes balancing incredibly hard. Aircraft are really easily shot down, regardless of how fast, small, or maneuverable they are, making scouting a non-existent form of art, which leads to guesswork. Commanders are weak as hell, on the other hand have the d-gun. Stupid design.

Where did this amazing fella go? Suck a good RTS KZbinr and I love the BAR stuff. Drongo, hope you'll alright man, we miss you.

If you can just spam nukes, why not use them defensively?

One mistake I already see: the commander should build the farthest away mex, because he already takes the time to get to the water. So the construction bot that comes after to finish the other two doesn't have to walk as much.

Drongo at start: "I had to edit the game files because I couldn't get a single game in an hour and a half of trying to not stall my wind enough to do this build." Is that what you call consistant? Even at full runs to AFUS that means you tried a minimum of 9 times before turning to cheats to get this timing. Is that what counts as "a competent player can get this timing consistantly..."?????? I gotta say, commander vs commander gameplay in this game is really boring compared to Supreme Commander. It's absolutely dumb and anticimatic to see people destroying their own coms all the time. Coms should really be tankier, and not drop reclaim.
