Nice job. How wide are the horizontal rails? Are they 2x4 or 2x6?

Next time im buying a toilet im going to make an imprint of the bottom. Just in case.. but knowing me I will probably lose the imprint when its time to put in new flooring.

Very cool. My porch construction is very similar meaning it would be minimal adjustment to what you did there to make it work. Great 👍

Hey Aaron, I can't thank you enough for this video and your vital tips within it! You saved me, Brother! This is my very first floor installation in our home and things are going extremely well. Then I eventually came across the door jam - exactly the same setup situation in your video (as the doorway is running the same way as the boards are running). Measuring and notching out the board was never a problem for me. The problem was - "how to get the boards at the foot of the doorway to lock in properly to the previous board of the previous row?" Man, I was STRUGGLING big time. But, your amazing/common sense idea of shaving just a portion of the locking tab of the previous board saved me big time! It makes total sense that it will still be locked as the rest of the previous board still has the proper end/lip of the locking tab. I tried this shaving procedure first on a couple of scrap pieces before actually applying it to the permanent boards. When I was satisfied it was going to work from testing the scraps, I went ahead with the job and voila - it worked like a charm!!! Please, please, please - keep this video up FOREVER as it will extremely help others/beginners like myself! You have been a GREAT help! I subscribed to your channel to show my appreciation. Sincere Thanks. Paul.

They make a mortar raker bit for angle grinders also. Very good for the side and they will reach all the way to the back. I also use manual mortar raker chisels with hammers and sometimes even masonry drill bits on my hammer drill. I also have an Arbortech AS170.

Is the bottom part screen too?

Yes
@tiffanyrichardson46594 ай бұрын
Question. Over time will the screen leg loose or will this keep it staying super tight?
@how-toswithaaron164 ай бұрын
All screening will stretch some no matter what, but if you go heavy on the staples this way can keep it tight to not have wrinkles for a long time

My Costco 14mm laminates can’t tile can’t slide can’t bend, don’t know what to do at door jambs.
@how-toswithaaron165 ай бұрын
Same process as seen in video, but if your pieces won’t bend you will most likely have to shave off the entire lip with the chisel, like on the video but all the way across
@mewshifter5 ай бұрын
other vids say lay from the door first to avoid this and work your way to the back

Sometimes you can but most rooms will have more than one door, like a closet.

Can you do whole flat in one continuous stretch of laminate flooring? Doing it across many doorways, some will be perpendicular to the other

What license would you need to build this yourself?
@how-toswithaaron165 ай бұрын
Just to screen in like in the video no license. To build the roof structure above it sometimes can require a contractors license, but if it’s your own house you can still do it, even permitted, yourself. But that’s just my experience and in NC so worth looking into yourself as well
