So the totally relevant question I have is: Is the 40 freeway any better structurally in TN than it is through AZ and NM? I drove some miles along the 40 from CA into TX and when I returned to L. A., I needed repairs to my car underneath. It was/is a literal washboard for more than a 500 mile stretch through there. Worst highway I have ever traveled.

My wife and I are considering moving to Sevierville. We live in Fort Lauderdale FL now. Will be researching all information tht we can regarding home buying and all of the expense comparisons between Fort Laud & Sevierville. Any information and guidance is much appreciated

I think if it's a felony to assult a police officer, it should be a felony for them to assult people as well. Especially if you're in situations where they just are beating you up. Who wouldn't try to defend themselves. And there's no way I'd be able to sit still with a dog on my throat period.

The most serious reason not to move to East Tennessee is the substandard healthcare. I would try to be in proximity to Knoxville to access better healthcare. Took husband to local ER at 3am cuz his BP was 200/100 and he was screaming in pain and the nurses came in the room and were laughing at him. Most unprofessional behavior ever and I was an ICU nurse in Florida and never witnessed that kind of behavior. I would have reported a colleague if I had seen that kind of behavior. This was not a one off, we have experienced other negatives with the local hospitals, including 6-8 hours waits in the ER. Not acceptable under any circumstances.

I think this blog is more a promotion of East Tennessee wildlife. If you see an Elk or a Red Wolf, be sure to photograph it and post it. You will be a hero. In 78 years, I have only seen two copper head snakes and one Timber Rattle Snake. I have seen dozens of Black Snakes. I have timberland and river front property in East Tennessee. I have seen one Red Wolf in Grainger Co., TN. I have also seen a half dozen Wildcats. Frankly, I have seen more bears, wildcats and panthers in Naples, FL and Python Snakes than I have ever seen in Tennessee.

Jonesborough is growing, local news said town grew from 6 to 10,000 people in 2 years I believe it! My taxes went from $775. Last year to about $940. This year! Maryville is full of adults that act like 5 year olds, (they somehow think they are smarter than folks who went to school and read books) gossip, lies, backstabbers, no morals or character, thieves are celebrated here. crooked law enforcement, confidential tip lines 2 days later the mini cartel is threatening the person giving the 'anonymous' tips. any person in charge or management is easily fooled by fools. no understanding of logic or obvious deception that even scooby doo could figure out. and these are rich retirees. your tax accountant will tell you at 4pm on tax day that they can't do your taxes bc their too dumb and they've been busy at the lake drinking horrible beers for alcholics like Natural Light or ?? (insert cheap watered down beer co. here) Hardee's is a delicacy in most of TN, although the rest of the country think they are out of business, bc no one would actually eat there. (caviat for breakfast biscuits only) Johnson City - recently visited, nice town, but they're still talking about masks..LOL i guess no one went to med school or can read a book in a town with 3 colleges, must be low grade point admittance

You would think a realtor would know Cookeville is middle Tenn.

So what? I live in Nj sharing a 6 lines highway with a horrible traffic and a 15 min trip can last for 50 min frequently and on top of that you pay tolls 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I live in Chattanooga, it's a safe tourist town. Crime is in every city, unfortunately people are victims to it anywhere you go.. It's beautiful here, and we have 2 aquariums, saltwater and fresh. Beautiful lakes, Great food, and parks. Would live in Chattanooga before any other City in Tennessee. Yes, I lived in Knoxville for 10 yrs, and the only thing I liked, was it was close to Gatlinburg. However Knxoville would be my 2nd choice, then Nashville and Never Memphis! That's where the crime truly is.
