a lot of trivia about how out of bounds areas like the spot in the city at the start have proper collision that stops the player from falling through the map is that it actually serves a bit of purpose in the games design. The logic behind it being a standard for insomniac at the time was that a player going out of bounds is bad to let happen since it breaks the intended gameplay experience and world immersion the player has since they are in an area with little to do, feels much more empty and is less fun. But having a player go out of bounds and find that the world is missing parts of terrain not facing the intended area or the player clipping through the level and simply falling into a void would be a much worse experience for the player as it completely breaks the immersion while also not having anything to explore for fun. The idea from a players perspective is that a player stumbling into a out of bounds area by accident but not having it be anything out of the ordinary would just look around a bit before getting bored and returning to the map one way or another while thinking they discovered a side area that wasn't important before likely forgetting it even happened. While if a player did the same but the area was unfinished looking they would be disoriented, think something was seriously wrong and remember it and even possibly tell their friends which would cause such information to spread via word of mouth and not reflect well on the games end as plenty of games rumor's related to bugs or out of bounds were well known at the time such as the minus world in super mario bros or missingno. Ratchet and Clank 2 actually had a massive bug only present in the original north American ps2 black label copies that allowed the player to jump infinitely via the first person mode unlocked after completing the game as the wrench toss in that mode would allow ratchet to preform a double jump when it returned to him so by simply walking up to a wall the player could just scale it by rapidly pressing the square and X buttons, the bug is not present in any later releases of the game since it wouldn't ever pass the quality inspectors and supposedly caused some changes both within insomniac games studio but also sony's team for quality inspection for ps2 games before release due to concerns caused by it being present when the game released as both the developers, in studio game testers and sony's inspectors failed to notice it. Nobody but the developers knew of the insomniac museum as it was meant to be a secret as the developers were not sure if it would be allowed by the game inspectors or even their higher ups at the studio to put it in the game, that is also why there is less collision around the edge of the building as it's lack of detail is just to avoid suspicion when higher ups would glance over maps of all the collision in the level. Surprisingly the discovery of the insomniac museum after the games release went well with sony's inspectors as it wasn't seen as a problem and the insomniac museum is a reoccurring feature in the series as a result since it was loved by many players at the time as well based on feedback received on the message board insomniac games created for players to discuss their games, unsurprisingly it did cause more internal discussion in insomniac and sony about communication of content within games. Funny enough is that ratchet and clank 2 still didn't cause the most changes in game quality inspection during the era as gta caused much more uproar with it's hot coffee mission that wasn't accessible by the player. Apologies if this information wasn't interesting and I wouldn't take any offense or issue if you didn't read this all or skimmed through it as I know game development information isn't super interesting to most people let alone when it comes to mundane parts such as game studios and console companies coming to out of this world conclusions about how bugs/glitches may be signs of low quality. Most important for last though, you broke the out of bounds street lights that are normally very difficult to break so that is something to brag about doing when at least 90% of players haven't done it especially with a wrench and as a joke if you have a friend who has the game you could bet them they can't break the street lamps with a wrench and that you could.

I have two secrets to share with you before you finish the game. 1. Is that there is a big secret at the megacorp mall on the first planet 2. Is that there is a bigger secret you can get to via two ways which are a teleporter in the fountain on the left side of the start in silver city bolden or alternatively getting hit on the grind rail section at the left most telephone pole box that is close to the island that contains the city, then gliding to that out of bounds area of the city and going to the single building across the natural bridge, the building lacks collision in some parts and you can jump inside it to get to a hidden area that the games developers left in the game to show off some things. If the instructions I said here are not adequate then looking up "insomniac museum ratchet and clank 2" here on youtube has plenty of better instructions for it.

19:29 a tiny tip with guns that fire slow is you can swing the wrench after shooting to cancel their fire cooldown to shoot faster

12:47 the health crates are a different color to denote that they heal more, if I remember the purple ones seen there heal 5 times as much as the blue and they are the only variation on health crates in this game other than the standard but that is because all the health crates heal an amount that scales with maximum health in some way that I don't fully understand the math behind. also to warn you of what many players find to be the biggest disappointment in the game, the lava gun upgrades into a gun that doesn't shoot lava but instead functions more like the lancer which is still very good and a stronger lancer if you get the lock on modifier for it but the fact it changes it's role as a gun that is for mowing down low health enemies to a single target melter can leave a gap in ones arsenal. thankfully the issues with the lava gun's upgraded form are fixed for it's appearance in the 3rd game.

try holding the strafe buttons more, it will make a big difference as the guns have much less homing to their shots from the 2nd game onwards. also the lock on mods for the guns are activated by holding both strafe buttons and will show a health bar over the enemy it locks onto, for some reason there isn't super clear indication that is how to use them except the single helpdesk message that shows up once when you pull one out for the first time which is very easy to miss since for 99% of players it pops up during combat lol.

Okay, update: The game keeps bugging out on me. I've had another death because the controls weren't working properly. So the solution I have come up with: I have ordered a copy for the PS3. I expect that to run better. I will put a video up with the changes and continue the story from where we left off like normal episodes. Because the PC version is getting ridiculous.
