Wayne Watkins ..........There were only 55 Healey 100S's ever built - 50 production cars and 5 'works' cars which were used solely for racing, speed trials and testing. [I understand that of the 5 'works' cars only 1 still remains - the infamous 1955 Le Mans 24 hour race car of Lance Macklin NOJ 393]. The majority of the 50 production cars were delivered in the 100S's classic colour-way - 'Old English White' over 'Lobelia Blue' with stove-enameled white wire wheels. However, unlike you claim - not all cars had white wire wheels and they were also delivered in several colours. This included red as well as black. There was also Jackie Cooper's Sebring-prepared 100S [race car no 42 / chassis AHS - 3504] which was delivered in Cooper's preferred colour of 'Spruce Green'.
