But the question is, how do you permanently turn the lights off. So I tried this on my mini keyboard, but when I power cycling the lights go back on. I have another Mini keyboard where the lights stay off even if I power cycle it. I prefer it that way, I don't have to disable the lights every time I turn on the keyboard. I'd like him to be permanently off like my other keyboard is.

This vid popped up in my feed at random, but I can tell you exactly what the problem is. I happen to produce graphene for additive inclusion formulas, and what these pads look like is regular graphite power on a silicone substrate. Graphite itself does have fairly good thermal conductivity, however, silicone as a semi-solid applique as used here is a better insulator than a thermal conductor; it's more or less a blanket for the CPU. I looked up their amazon listing which stated 6w/mk, which is about on par with a loaded acrylic polymer for thermal conductivity. Again, even an average mid-range thermal paste falls somewhere between 12-20 watts/mk. I've tried all the thermal pads and even the best on the market barely keep pace with even an average thermal paste while being sandwiched on an IHS. At least you're loss is limited to the price of the pads and not hardware killed, so it's an excellent PSA for shoppers if nothing else. Good reporting!
@welcometoronsworld6589Ай бұрын
Thank you for the detailed and informative comment, it's helpful to know that thermal pads don't perform as well as thermal paste, especially when considering the price point.

I’m looking to build a modest inexpensive PC with a mid-2000s vibe, mostly to VM Windows 95,98, and XP and also some light modern gaming, dual-monitors with one being an old VGA CRT monitor I still have and the other a modern LCD. This seems to fit the bill, good price and I think the esthetic is what I am going for. The support for an optical drive is also good for what I want to do, installing old CD ROM games and such. I like that there aren’t any big glass windows or RGB lights which weren’t really much of a thing yet in the era I want it to match, however there were a few with single-color LED accent lighting in red, green, or blue so I might put some red-only LED fans in the front fan mounts to shine through the vertical slats but that’s it. Might use one of those ASUS industrial micro ATX motherboards that still have native VGA integrated graphics because I probably wouldn’t need much more than that.

@welcometoronsworld65892 ай бұрын
True, but when you are building system for elders that only browser the internet the new and latest gear will be overkill for them. Also, they will not be utilizing the PC to the potential new gear offers. All my clients only skype or browse the internet no gaming like the young generation in 2024. On my behalf my motherboard has at least 4 usb 3.0 I do not use neither one of them. Love the question keep them coming.

Hello! I'm planning to buy this motherboard since it's the cheapest b450 available in my region coming from a well known manufacturer. I have an old ryzen 2400g lying around and I plan to build a Linux machine. Question: how was your experience with the mb? Are you still using it? Was there any problems that you encountered?
@welcometoronsworld65892 ай бұрын
My Experience is great no issues at all and still running strong. If you are a regular PC user and don't believe in over clocking your hardware you will be fine and you will love it. and that was the main reason why I also purchase the motherboard because it was budget friendly.
