I'm afraid I have the same story within my family. A younger close relative, very promising career in the army, decorated for incredible bravery in action. The police ended his career, and pretty much his life, by arresting him one night (out with his mates) when they overheard him use an "inappropriate" word to describe the people who had tried to end his life. Now his life has bottomed out, a myriad of problems I won't go into. So sad for these guys.
