what if it’s still grainy AND soupy after you’ve added the melted small portion back in? this has happened every single time i’ve made swiss meringue and always happens even when trying to do the heated portion thing

@BakingButterlyLove Thank you for the really helpful video❤ When we take our cake layers out of the fridge to frost, do we need to let them sit out for 10-15 prior to frosting still wrapped up? Or do we take the plastic wrap off and can frost right away? 🫶

It’s not for for beginners stop making videos that have a rotating tall tower that you’re using it’s not what beginners will have. Also, we don’t have that fancy little spatula. Thumbs down 👎 already right away. I watched like six videos and say there for beginners and then you have all these fancy tools. I’ll just go buy a box and the stuff in the tub at the grocery store. I was hoping I could get help because I’m trying to make a birthday cake for myself And it’s starting to get complicated.

Thank you for a great tutorial I seem to never get it smooth drives me crazy 😜 I also want to ask how can I get this Swiss meringue buttercream white? Would it work if I used half shortening? Thanks in advance

I just tried to do this with lemons. I didn’t blanche the slices and definitely cut them on the thin side and they kinda fell apart. Hopefully second attempt will be more successful

You're very talented, both as a baker and as an artist. You have the rare knack of combining many colors into something genuinely pleasing to the eye. Thanks for the instruction, Katie. I needed this one badly. Subbed, liked, and very pleased.

my butter cream seems to split while its on the cake, ive tried putting the cake (with crumb coat) in the fridge fpr 15 mins, 30 mins and overnight and it seems to happen every time. its soo disheartening because my final layer of icing looks good until it starts splitting and pulling away from the cake. What am I doing wrong here??

I have made cakes for decades with no issues with the frosting. BUT, just recently I tried a checked board cake ( made a trial then the actual). Stacking was ok. After frosting and decorating the icing/decorating slide off the cake pulling the cake off with it! I was horrified! Did this with both cakes. What a mess. Any idea what I am doing wrong? I am soon making a baby carriage cake and do not want a repeat. Help, please. PS I will never do a checkerboard or layers again.
