Sehr schöne Version aller Lieder zum Mitsingen für die nächste Chorprobe.

I noticed that some of Clementi's later piano sonatas become more, experimental, rhythmically complex, chromatic, etc... It is cool to hear his compositional development. This reminds much of his unorthodox capriccios.
Aldo Antognazzi and Pablo Lavandera. The links to the recordings are in the description of the video.

They have also corrected the form "dasse", still common in the 16th century, into more correct modern Italian "desse" - hypercorrectivism? in 17.
@clementisscoresandotherworks11 күн бұрын
That's a interesting point! There is debate about whether making such corrections is correct with older works. It sounds good, regardless...
@cristinaivaldi567311 күн бұрын
@@clementisscoresandotherworks it certainly does. I've enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you!!

Why does it sound like Beethoven sometimes ?
@clementisscoresandotherworks3 ай бұрын
It could be said that Beethoven sometimes sounds like Clementi, actually. A lot of classical influence in the way...

I have requested Lauridsen's music for my death bed, should I be so fortunate to die that way. If I am duly prepared, I can think of no better accompaniment to a blessed hereafter: with O Magnum Mysterium as the coda. I am reminded of the Christian runner in Chariots of Fire, who said: "When I run, I feel God's pleasure." I have no doubt that Laurdisen's music pleases his Creator.

Loved that this Haydn/Mozart era Classicist influenced by Scarlatti managed to be very long lived and continue to compose through most of his life and grow as a musician in the process! 18 years Beethoven's senior and 27 for Hummel, he still possessed a passionate emerging Romanticism. Such a brilliant composer, bridging multiple different eras in his pieces!!

Brillante, espectacular, gran sonata. del injustamente olvidado antiguo y notable maestro Muzio Clementi, que Dios lo tenga en la gloria a semejante músico!!
@rexy739910 ай бұрын
I don't understand why people play Clementi in their own interpretation rather than employing reasonable articulation, while showing the same respect they do towards the music of Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn.
@alexandergrant242010 ай бұрын
Hmm the sonata 2 in a major is very slow, I think I play it about twice the speed.
@clementisscoresandotherworks10 ай бұрын
I think it's a sonata that sounds great in a lot of different speeds... I like this one, the beginning sounds humble, meditative... very different from others Clementi's beginnings. But I can see the appeal of a much faster aproach :D
