Yes! Baumann was an advocate of natural horn and composed it for use in the Bad Harzburg natural horn competition.

I love your rendition. I believe this is the original key which I also appreciate. I regularly play the Suite 1 Prelude in D (poorly) which is concert G.

Thank you! It is the original key which is an extra challenge but one I think is worth taking on. You can work on the Bach suites for a lifetime and find things to perfect so don't stop playing!

Thank you! I'm biased but I think the mellow horn sound works well even if endurance is why few horn players try it. Pärt did publish it with a horn part originally so it was always an option he considered.

Thanks for posting. I'd seen them perform in 2018 -- or maybe 2019? It was a terrific program. My one disappointment was that they hadn't released a CD featuring at least some of the compositions, if not all, that I'd heard in concert. It would have made a great souvenir. Well, at least there's what you've uploaded. Thanks again.

Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot! A CD was on our to do list but especially with Covid shut downs we weren't able to get together and do it before people moved away. Still, we do have a version of Until Dawn that we recorded remotely which I am proud of, you can find it by searching Until Dawn Volante Winds.

A masterpiece, that should be heard by the great international classical -music loving audience. If this was a French or Italian, it would be the case. But the composer is from a region (not the country), where music media systematically undermine the greatness and genius of their own masters. And rather tittering in local ‚ political correct ‚ village politics. The world never improves for this masters. Very sad. Thanks for posting! Bravo

Thank you so much! The arrangement is actually a piano part that my harpist (Cindy Lee) was kind enough to read. There are a few adjustments that need to made but it isn't actually too much.
