For a third of the price you should (depending on the weight of the filament, I’ve guesstimated 1.5kg) be able to buy the files from CarnyRex for $20 AUD then the hardware from frontline foam for $60 AUD and the filament needed for another $40 AUD. That adds up to a bit over a third of the price buying the full thing from frontlinefoam.

I see you have the option for a 300 ft./s option. What does it feel like to get hit with that compared to the 120 cause I know some places only allow you to participate with 100 or so feet per second.

It can be painful at close range, but at higher fps events, it’s not bad since you’re usually firing from a greater distance.

As a Nerd it is a FLINTLOCK RIFLE OR MUSKET, the Rifle existed but they are different. A rifle didn’t have a bayonet, had a weirder ram rod and hand a scope! A flintlock rifle was a musket in the American revolution
@FrontlineFoamBlasters23 күн бұрын
You’re totally right! Rifle referred to the rifling in the barrel that didn’t get invented until much later.
@carrott3610 сағат бұрын
Muskets: smoothbore (not accurate because of the barrel), muzzle-loading, can attach a bayonet Rifles: rifled (accurate because of the barrel, not a scope), at the time muzzle-loading, can also attach a bayonet (although often a different type, such as sword bayonets for British baker rifles).

Can you do a video about how you fly with blasters, how you pack, any tips for TSA etc. ?
@FrontlineFoamBlastersАй бұрын
Those good questions. Any specific? Flying with blasters is actually super easy - just put any “gun” type stuff on a checked bag like blasters and magazines. That’s it!
@mainstay.Ай бұрын
@@FrontlineFoamBlasters So as not to damage plastic blasters, do you use 'gun' cases or are they too 'red flag' ?
@FrontlineFoamBlastersАй бұрын
@@mainstay. I’d use a regular hard sided suitcase if your blaster can be taken apart to fit. Most equipment cases that would fit longer blasters would have to be treated as oversized baggage which I’ve found to not be worth the inconvenience. Although I haven’t had any issues yet with the case itself being too red flag. You’re 100% allowed to check real firearms no problem, so it isn’t the appearance that has made an issue - just the fact that a larger case has to be loaded and unloaded from a separate area in the airport. Although I haven’t had to pay any oversize baggage fees, just that the overall length was too long for their automated systems. Hope that makes sense.
@mainstay.Ай бұрын
@@FrontlineFoamBlasters Thanks so much, this really helps. Have you ever had to explain what the blasters are, as I'm sure the x ray would have picked up the metal barrels, cages etc. Do you have to 'declare' what they are before you check them? Why didn't you take any blasters with you to Malaysia for your recent game in the Saber Tournament, was it the cost?

@DanielBytnar-r6c26 күн бұрын
It's because you have to build it and also And also you'll have to pay all of your money
@carrott3610 сағат бұрын
It’s because it comes pre-assembled. Depending on the weight of the filament, I’ve estimated the price to assemble it yourself (with a 3D printer) at roughly $100 AUD apiece + $20 AUD for the files.
@carrott3610 сағат бұрын
This is opposed to the $300 buying it pre-assembled from frontlinefoam.
