listen to the hook.... its telling you the chords or the progression.... "DIAL 6-3-2 2-1-3-5" that is the same progression that I got.... 6-3-2 2,-5 and the 2-1-3-5 was just a fill in..... they told you the chords in the hook... this is a nugget that most musicians missed..... wow.

This was 10 years ago. Hopefully you have improved in your scales..... just because a song starts on a note dont make that the key of the song.... the song key is in Gb and the 6 of Gb is Eb, so thats why you called it Ebm, relatively you where NOT wrong.... but if you look at the song as a major scale then Eb is the relative minor or Gb. Therefore the song starts on the 6 but the song can be seen as in Gb Major..... therefore the chords would be.... 6, 3, 2, 5 or 6, 3, 2, 3 and when you learn about the 2,5,1 turn around you'll realize this song is following a common chord progression. so the 5 is the same as playing 6. So every chord you played was "correct". but when you teach you should know your chords, scales and number system... you played a Eb Minor (6), Then a modified Bbm you combined the Eb with the Bb which is fine... but the actual bass was Eb (3), then the third chord was spot on Abm (2) then Ive played both a DbMajor OR like you played a Bb Minor 7 or a Ebsusadd9 depending on how you want to look at the voicing. always follow the bass. The bass is going 6, 2, 2, 3 so the bass is playing harmony.... I also play bass. and I dissect songs often. I think you did a great job by the way. its hard to tell the chords on some songs you have to really listen hard to distinguish between the chords, bass, piano and guitar.... I would say you where 97% spot on.... the last 2nd chord you played is a Bb Minor not Eb.... why? chord scale.... 1 = Major, 2 = Minor, 3 = Minor, 4 = Major, 5 = Major, 6 = Minor and 7 = dim but by now you would already know this.
