Shaman king was one 4 kids' gems along with yugioh and Pokémon too bad everything else was basically hit or miss at best in terms of English dubs

Idk if this is a controversial opinion. But this is probably the best 4Kids dub. It was mostly faithful to the original Japanese. Keeping the themes of death intact while still making it mostly kid friendly. The voice cast was pretty good. And the OST’s weren’t too bad (The OP is a banger tho) Also, name another 4Kids dub that used the word “Jackass” uncensored

Irony. 20 years later, voice actors who were from 4kids teamed with funimation VAs for a proper adaption of Shaman King! It was surreal to hear Eric Stuart(Seto Kaiba) actually get to voice Marco they way he always was meant to sound. And that’s god, the 4kids voice acts were treated like crap by the company so much so that Eric Stuart even said “Leo Burnett and 4kids are the devil!” Dan Green even comes back to voice Lee Pyron!

Does anyone else remember the Manga to the 4kids anime show? In the 4K version when Manta was captured and being tortured by that Doctor Faust who(turns into their ally) was using spirit electricity on him? But in the Manga he was actually flaying his stomach wide open and dissecting him... Brutal~

One of the greatest animes/mangas highlighting how humanity lost connection to spirituality and nature. Not only does it highlight the dangers of capitalism or an anti-capitalist or spiritual villain, but it also shows the importance of preserving balance within oneself. Yoh is a great main character reflecing that aspect. It is true we have lost connection to ourselves due to materialism. Materialism allows us short-term satisfaction for our internal issues. Preventing us to solve the issue on a mental and spiritual level. It is easier to distract with short-term satisfaction instead. This is why we are often depressed today despite "having everything". Shaman King was truly ahead of its time. Take what u need and be done with it. And we modern humans take way more than what we need from nature to satisfy our greed and internal issues. We just waking up now I guess... 😅

Raise your hand if wish this series was back at Shonen Jump, just like a lot of things you wish would go back to being a part of Disney.
