what is considered "mid game". Im currently lvl 71 on tier 2 maps and Im looking for something with efficient map clearing and survivability. Ive gone through so much gold trying to find a good build and I think this is my last attempt before I either quit the game or switch classes.

When I made the guide I had just started maps. I am on Tier 6 and can comfortably recommend this build. It did suffer from a survivability standpoint, so I made some minor adjustments to defensive nodes - but nothing that cost me an arm and a leg. Once I get this Pinnacle Boss Down, Ill share a true end game version - but you are fine to proceed.

Thanks!!! I've picked up on the basic concepts you cover (just finishing Act 3 normal) but you really put them together in a way that I did not. I can't wait to synergize those attacks! -- Question 1 : I've been running Splinter on my mace strike for the extra armor break. Do you find that unnecessary compared to the extra damage that Heft provides? -- Question 2 : Do you plan to go Giant's Blood? Why / Why not? It seems to be the meta (with the shield) but I'm not sure that it's worth the stat commitment.
@JackoffeeTV
@JackoffeeTV 2 күн бұрын
@@guyjorstad8417 With just the 50% armor break on heavy stun node in the passive tree the armor break was sufficient. I armor break with one hit using Heft. So the increase there isn't needed. If I find that I progress through maps and the mobs begin not to armor break that would be a great node for the 4th or 5th slot. For now. Not needed. Giants blood is absolutely worth getting for more difficult maps because of the extra armor and stats the shield provides you. HP, HP on hit and HP regen becomes king in the late game. Yes it is meta. It is min max but I prefer the roleplay of wielding a two hander. If I become gated from content due to my survivability I will pick it up.
@Vohtwomax
@Vohtwomax 3 күн бұрын
Not sure if you saw or not (I'm sure you did), but the minor nodes by colossal weapon give you %12 damage w/ 2-handed weapons and 5 nodes for %60 combined. I'm quite sure you saw and are probably picking those up. I just didn't hear you talk about the monster damage boost. I wasn't sure about Blood Magic at first, but after watching the gameplay, I think I'm sold. Thanks for the build guide!! I'm level 24 right now, so something to work towards.

This is my first time playing POE (other than a few hours in the first one) and I'm adamant on doing my own thing, so I've ignored my friend's request to follow a build guide up until now. I've had no issues on my Titan until I reached Utzaal and I seem to now get completely decimated by these mobs instantly and can't get past 3 hallways, so to ease my rage I went to reddit to validate myself but stumbled on your video. Anyways, I thought I'd skim through it because to be honest I don't care THAT much, but I ended up watching the whole thing. As someone else already mentioned the game in maps is completely different. I think the campaign is way too long. Maps are too big and the game gets tedious fast. Especially if you want to play it for long sessions. Maybe not the first time or the second, but I rerolled 3 times and let me tell you that while you get faster at completing the campaign it drags on and on until you reach maps. Path of Exile 2 is not a one and done game. The game is meant to be repeated over and over again with 3-4 monthly resets. I don´t think many people will log in again for league starts if the massive flaws this game has right now won´t get adressed. Don´t get me wrong. I like the game, it has a solid core, but I can also clearly see why they released it in early access. Another point you adressed was that the developer is (always) right. You couldn´t be further from the truth. PoE1 was extremely niche and has grown over the years thanks to community feedback. Every change to modernize the game was a hard fight, some even over years. We got the currency exchange market in july and were asking for it for at least 7 years.
@JackoffeeTV
@JackoffeeTV 5 күн бұрын
The campaign I thought was the best part, but I haven't explored maps yet to the fullest extent. Of course they aren't always right, but they have a more fundamental understanding having built the game. Feedback is always important, just hope it doesn't get so bloated that they make this into POE 1. Thanks for the great comment! Awesome to hear others prospective!

Appreciate the passion and yes, the boss is Cuntmaster indeed, lol. Great tips, btw. I beat him at level 44 and got a little lucky because 2/3 left of his health he went back in the fire and as I was sundering him he walked…and kept walking towards me without attacking and so was able to finish him with little room to spare! Since I had rage going, Volcanic Fissures with Sunder can have some nice multipliers as well. Definitely feels like Act III is not nearly as refined as the first 2 acts. Chaos trial is nonsense and you have a boss like this to deal with. Still having a lot of fun outside this. Will fight him again now since my victory didn’t feel 100% earned.

My guy, i can almost guarantee you won't be enjoying the late game as much as you are enjoying the campaign, as it is a whole different beast. I have been playing POE since forever, almost since it went live, and i am loving POE2. The problem is not that it is hard, but that it becomes insanely punishing. You grind waystones to create better ones, because at this time you cannot buy anything higher than tier 3, so you either have to combine a shit ton of lower ones or just have them drop at a higher tier with RNG. Then you spend your currency to craft it into something that is actually worth running, only to have 1 single shot at it. If you get one shot, and you will often, you lose it all. You lose the waystone, you can't get the items on the floor, you wont progress with the quest objective, you lose the extra content on that node from the atlas, and you loose about 4 or 5 maps worth of experience. You wont be able to learn the boss mechanics because if you fail once, the boss is deleted from the map. It feels way too punishing and i don't think it will retain a lot of players in it's current state. While i hope they keep the nature of the game as it is, it certainly needs some adjustments to some parameters. The reasons why criticism is mostly coming from hardcore dudes is because most people haven't arrived at the point where these problems affect you. As it stands, it's not just made to be hard, but also frustrating by design, and that is not a positive thing. I do have faith in GGG, they never let us down in the past and i am certain that they will find the perfect balance. But the way it is now, it ain't it.
@JackoffeeTV
@JackoffeeTV 6 күн бұрын
That's some really great input and I have to agree that balance changes would be needed here. If the game is becoming difficult for the sake of being difficult and you don't learn lessons through each death than that is just poor game design. Not to mention if you aren't able to prevent these deaths through gameplay or building defensively that is an issue as well. The video was more meant to argue that they shouldn't push POE 2 to play more like POE 1. Unfortunately, I heard that mapping doesn't feel like POE 2 at all - that it's simply based on clear speed and your just overwhelmed with monsters that can snipe you off screen. This moment to moment gameplay seems to be designed like POE 1 instead of taking advantages of intentional skill based combat the game was intended to play as. We will see what they do here! Thanks for the great comment!

Thing I hate the most about this is that I went through this entire dungeon just to get stonewalled by this boss, have roughly 1.2k DPS, I literally can't get below 45% HP before I reach the end of the sluice. Rest of the dungeon was easy as fuck and I had just recently gotten a massive upgrade for my mace. I hate that this is just a DPS check with nearly no skill involved.

You need to prioritize physical damage reduction as you level which is increased by your armor. There are a ton of ways to get that whether through the passive skill tree or your gear. I typically will swap items early on based on its level and armor value. Make sure to build toward having full modifiers on your gear - 2 for magic, and 6 for rare. Lastly, make sure to keep high elemental resistance drops for other encounters where bosses tend to do a specific type of damage.
