I have only heard this song for a couple of weeks, many times now, love it how it speaks to me and out of me in adoration to how he knows our brokenness

Well, the words to this song are good. This is the fourth time I've listened to it and it makes me cry. I like how the phrase "You can come as you are" gets bigger and bigger on the screen. And I like the "Louder than the voice that whispers I'm unworthy". I don't know if the louder voice fades away after a few seconds, or if I don't listen to it. The song is a little trite, but that might be b/c the Gospel is so simple that people can say the obvious--say the same thing over again in very similar ways--without the point changing much in a world that needs an unchanging message every person, every sinner can understand (such as that end-of-a-Gospel-chapter "...give you rest..." verse). But I... don't. I don't quite understand. I don't see how God couldn't be disappointed and mad at me. My long-time friend texted me all these lyrics, saying there wasn't much melody to them but that I should think about the words. It's made me cry, then and now, and I hardly ever cry about anything anymore. My two close friends know that I'm lost in the woods, but they don't know the extent of what I've done. I wonder if I EVER were a believer or if I just thought I was, but all along I've been a tare ... tare-ifying to think my real outcome is to be plucked up and cast into fire. I "used to be"/thought I was a Christian, and many other people did too--a strong Christian, even. I led the Sunday morning worship music up front for the congregation one week of the month, I sang at the local Rescue Mission (and this song says, how "tenderly He calls you"--and every shelter service I would close with Softly & Tenderly a cappella and this reminded me of that. How can I know words like that and not have them make a difference in my outlook and life right now. Do I actually not believe at all?). I led Bible studies, prayer meetings, I was missions coordinator for years, went to Africa with our church team, and I did other things--an artist, a fundraiser, whatever whatever. I thought it all mattered at least. For about 26 years. I fell into terrible sin about 9 years ago--which surprises me to put that "9" because it feels like yesterday--Yesterday--["all of my wrong choices"]. I let down a lot of people who loved me. Actually everybody. What a train wreck and debacle. A Life failure, epic fail. I'm 57 years old. Fifty-freaking-seven years old and now I've fucked up my whole life ["broken pieces, shameful scars... all the pain you hold in your heart"]. "Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven or stand up and walk?'" I can't seem to overcome a certain dullness of mind and spirit and see a pathway back to God. It doesn't make sense that He's "not disappointed in me", that He's "not mad at me". Does that make sense to anyone else? Stupid that I wrote this. Pfftt. Guess I just felt like rambling on an internet board of strangers. It was about 3 o'clock in the morning, and trying to write things, or deciding to write things, at an hour like that is just ... silly, I know. bye then

Last year around April, I got down on my knees at the BCM at my church and prayed for Jesus to save me because I couldn't do it on my own anymore. A few months later, depression sucked me back in and I was very self-destructive. The past few weeks, I've been a counselor at 2 different camps and last week I just surrendered all the pain of everything that'shappened to me and everything I've done to Jesus and all I know is that He saved me and He always forgives me and He loves me so much

I know you posted this some time ago. I have been walking with the Lord for 4 years. I was in a pit so deep all I could do is look up. I was so broken and ashamed of who I became. As I grabbed onto Jesus for dear life he started to ut me back together. As in Psalms 139. He knew us before we were and he knew the wicked roads we would travel. He was always there and we could never hide from him. Best part is.....He still loves us no matter what. I'm praying for you.
