Funny enough I just put together a composition for my next painting which will depict poppies as well...Remembrance Day is coming in November here in Canada and I really felt to create something around that.

Such a great beginner friendly painting!! I love how you just basically showed everyone that anyone can paint. It's not about talent, it's about skill...and for some paintings those skills are not too hard to come by and easily learned.

I like how versatile the round brush is. From branches, to pointy strokes, to gentle circles...absolutely a must have when painting.

Found your tutorials and have subscribed. I was looking for tips to paint sugar beet leaves in a field. I suppose it’s a case of dark and light blobs. I don’t want individual leaves. 😊

Thanks for the inspiration. I’ve always been afraid of acrylics but this looks worth a try. I don’t know whether I’ve been using the wrong brushes but I don’t seem to be able to get the paint down very easily. I would love to see more tutorials using this method. Thank you for sharing.

As a beginner that haven’t touched a brush my whole life, one of the things that I want to paint was clouds but I always don’t get it and just ruin it when I try🥲

Hi, good work! Did you prepare the canvas before painting? With gesso or what?

Thank you! It was a primed canvas, so I didn't prepare it. You could always add a coat of gesso though if you think your canvas needs it. 😊

How do you keep your sketch from smudging? I tend to have issues with that.

Hi, smudging more often happens with softer pencils. I use a 2H pencil, the other option that you will see me often use is a pastel pencil, this can be easily erased and doesn't really alter the color of the acrylic paint. Hope this helps! Often it's just a case of sketching in very lightly. 😊
