I loved driving this car...and, by the end of it all, hated OWNING it. This car suffers from one of the hidden defects that got Mitsubishi in a scandal somewhat later: the car, over the course of several years of ownership, snapped its timing belt TWICE way, way before the scheduled maintenance interval, completely destroying the head (interference engine type). They rebuilt the engine twice, both times under warranty, and at the time I was both very thankful and wondering why. After the scandal broke I found out why, of course. I loved driving the car but ended up just parking the car, allowing it to slowly age away, because I was sick and tired of the constant fear (and dealing with the realities) of being stranded. That was the first Mitsubishi I owned - never a Mitsu again!

Yep great automobile! I own a 2002 CLK 320. Burgundy over gray leather interior. Just changed the oil and filter for 130 $. Put in a new Diehard battery for 250$. New fob batteries for 13$. That's it! Tires of course 360$ at Discount tires. Gets 25 mpg. and cruise control loves 85 mph. Drove from San Diego to Tampa in 4 days, no problem! The Best Or Nothing is Clear!

I had the USDM S52 M Roadster as a First car and now drive the EUDM S50 M Roadster. They only do similar 0-60s when the tires can't put down the power on the S50. Pilot Sport 4s bring that down to the High 4s, and it's a Low 13 High 12 second car. The Gap gets worse when you give the S50/S54 a 3.46 diff ratio or better. The S52 was far less of a headache though and would readily accept boost!

Thus the term "Dodge it!"" Water hose and something or the drive shaft breaks so you have to Dodge it not run into it! F355 far better!
