Hey LSE, just wondered if I could use some of these clips for a video I am making on EastCoast for my channel - with appropriate credit of course!
@LinesideSouthEast10 күн бұрын
Yes, that would be OK as long as there is an on screen credit to my channel and a pinned comment with a link to either my channel or my video.

Brilliant high speed action so far from this year. The class 745's sound similar to old school Formula One cars :-)

By using zoomed-in shots you have totally removed the effect of the high speeds! A common mistake in YT videos.

The most stupid idea selling off the 37’s. More reliable than most of todays trains and locomotives.. get Summat with a mtu/ man/ maybach Mercedes’ and parts aren’t cheap where as British locos are reliable.

@@LinesideSouthEast yes I have heard that too so plenty more opportunities for it to appear on the Grain branch in the future

In this age of pollution awareness, do they run these trains on commercial trips routinely or is this just a demo run of the old times?
@LinesideSouthEast2 ай бұрын
They are commercial profit making operation. They only run because there is a demand for tickets to ride behind a steam locomotive.
@SubramaniamLakshminarayanan2 ай бұрын
@@LinesideSouthEast And no questions raised on the levels of pollution this causes by burning coal ? I know thermal power stations also burn coal but that is processed coal and under controlled conditions. The coal burnt by locomotive engines is just raw coal and that is evident with the volume of smoke billowing.

It's great they've preserved the route and station for the locals and visitors to enjoy, but for me it's a little sad as I remember days out in Folkestone when I was a kid and seeing the trains and ferry terminal all going on there, but hey that's progress . Enjoyed watching thanks.

Amazed that you failed to mention Tate & Lyle Refinery as it appears in most of the shots. Worked there myself from 79 to 99

Fair point, although I was trying to concentrate primarily on the railways of the area. I know a few people who also worked there and they tell me it was a good place to work.

Its a pity you didn't see fit to film at Lowestoft where these trains started from
@LinesideSouthEast2 ай бұрын
I avoid filming at stations these days as you get too much grief from staff, security and general jobsworths, especially if you use a tripod as I do to film. Just not worth it.
@annatrindall98292 ай бұрын
@@LinesideSouthEast well you filmed at Norwich, Cantley and Reedham so what you say doesn't stack up. I have filmed at various locations including Lowestoft, Ely and Peterborough & I have never had any problems
@LinesideSouthEast2 ай бұрын
@@annatrindall9829 I have filmed in vicinity of those locations (from public footpaths, overbridges and the like) but not generally from the station platforms themselves, with the exception of unmanned stations like Reedham. Glad to hear you have not had any problems and I hope that that continues but my experience has been very different. I just got completely fed up of having confrontations and arguments with those in authority so I now avoid such situations.
