He should put his ego in the closet and call Nick McCabe , maybe they could make some decent relevant music again … but at this point he probably believes all the stories he’s made up in his head.

Top guy clearly but he could have kept his accent! Living down south doesn't give you a Manc accent ;-)

You just know the tide is turning with musos and celebs a little Let’s be honest the fact he brought it up was a statement and also a little checking of the room He was also cleverly or rather sitting on fence at least with the jahgggg mandates for festivals saying he wouldn’t I prefer making plans for Nigel tho ….reform lol

I wonder how much band politics have played in the fact that the Verve never got back together. I know McCabe is a far-left guy (seeing tweets he's had in years past & stuff he'd liked) + Ashcroft say something to the effect of, "There's no virtue signaling here" on stage in one of his gigs. You've got two strong personalities there with Ashcroft & McCabe & if they butted heads before, you add 21st century politics into it? I don't see them ever getting back together.

Great interview, its a beautiful thing to hear people talk with humility. Some people might love it but makes up for that awful interview he did on the bbc breakfast show thing.

To anyone who wants to know, Richard has said on tour as recently as last week that he does not support either left or right wing of politics. He was just pointing out that Trump accidentally used the name of Lucky Man in his statement and as any good human being wished him a recovery, but as stated last week, ASHCROFT DOES NOT SUPPORT RIGHT WING NOR LEFT WING POLITICS.
@theneonchimpchannel90956 күн бұрын
He has always struck me as being slightly left leaning based on his lyrics, but more just a "man of the people" type rather than actually politically active. From what I've read, he seems to try and stay out of it when it comes to politics.

It feels like he was going to slag off Trump but then remembered what happened to Tenacious D so he stopped himself. I really can't see the man who wrote Bittersweet Symphony and This Is Music and various other songs about the working class struggle aligning himself with or supporting Trump in any way. At least I'd hope not.
@russelljames10166 күн бұрын
You don't think Trump is for the working class in America then? I don't think ashcroft was going to slag him off at all actually, think you are projecting your views onto him a bit there
