I too just started my shingles journey. Wednesday it started as a muscle aches and irritation but no rash. Sunday morning I wake up to a small rash on my right upper chest , upper back and worst arm pit. Huge blisters and I can’t explain the pain. I went to the ER and was prescribed medication. It is contagious to those who haven’t had chickenpox or pregnant women. Body aches flu like symptoms. Stress is what put me in this situation. I look back and realize it’s not worth it. I’m just miserable but feel good to know it will get better. I will not stress over anything. Lesson learned. Thank you for your experience and guidance. I pray for all that go through this awful journey.

Did you take the C19 jab? Seems like that can cause this in younger people.

Please please please get your dress preserved. There are so many places that do it. I’d hate to see your dress ruined and yellowed.

I want you to know it wasn’t just a cat. Don’t let anyone minimize your grief. I understand, losing so many pets in the past. I’m 72 years old and I always loved my cats. It hurt so bad losing them. I always had other cats at home with me, so it did help. This time I lost my precious little Yorkie, Daisy and it’s almost unbearable. I had her for 8 years, she was 11 years old and spent the first 3 years of her life in a cage until she was rescued. And that’s when I got her. Daisy was my baby, my heart. And the worst part is I feel like to get another pet would be wrong. What happens it I die before her? Where would she go then? I wouldn’t want her or him to end up in a shelter. Also I’m low income and if I need to take my pet to a vet, I really can’t afford to. My credit is good but because of my low income, I can’t get pet insurance. I already tried that in the past. I was turned down. I’ve always had pets all my life so not to have one in my life makes me so mad. Truthfully, I couldn’t get one now cause I miss Daisy. So yes, I’m pissed off to the max. At the same time heartbroken cause she was the love of my life. I’m glad you’re young so you don’t feel trapped like I do. I’m so very sorry your little kitty is gone. Really I am. I understand how you’re feeling. I have to mention I really believe all our pets who have passed on are in heaven. And I will be with Daisy again. God understand our feelings and God is compassionate and loving and will have us to be happy beyond words so they are all there with Him. God bless you and your husband. Grieve all you want! You need too. It’s the only way to heal. ✝️🩷

I went out to eat with others on a Friday evening. Had a cup of tea at a friend's. Then played Scrabble at the neighbors. Wasn't the first 4 hours my cat spent time here alone. Molly was only ten. Not sick. No changes in food, water intake, nor behavior changes. This was a month ago. 5 weeks Friday. Who counts? Still grieving Not crying like I was. Still struggling with the well meaning,"are you going to get another one?" Yes, needing to grieve this. Thank you for sharing. My ❤️ goes out to all who love our Unconditionally Loving Furry Friends 🐾❤

Hi! did you ever get the symptom of shingles which is TRIGEMINAL NEARALGIA? Having shingles is already painful and then to have this is TN thing is excruciating 😢..
@robannmateja5000Ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds awful. I'm in the "older age" group, and watching your video was one of the motivators for me to get the Shingrix vaccine. I had the first vaccine dose and the side affects are not fun - classical migraine with aura (fortunately, the migraine was short lived), very sore arm with a baseball sized swelling and redness, and significant fatigue. The vaccine was worse than any of the covid shots that I had. But nothing compared to what you and other shingles sufferers went through. So I will be getting the next one within 6 months, and hoping that I never have to go through the hell that you went through. I hope you continue your healing process and are never faced with this again. Take care!

I went to ER with extreme pain on my left side! CAT scan, urinalysis, blood work all negative, but they knew I was in pain because my BP was 184! Was told to see my doctor! An x-ray was taken and the diagnosis was my back! The very next day blisters formed and I knew it was shingles! I was given anti-viral medication, pain medication and cream that was compounded! My pain was excruciating! I have dealt with this pain since the last of September and it is now November 12! Tepid showers 3 times a day with a non-fragrant soap helped! Later when blisters crusted over I would take warmer showers! Activity will also increase nerve pain! Rest is so important! I also used medical red light therapy! Shingles are horrible!

I have shingles that have crossed my midline and they are brutal! I have had the viral medication, injections, creams and pain medication! This is my fifth week! The one thing that helps me besides the pain medication is tepid showers! I sometimes take three a day! I also found out the more active you are the worse the nerve pain gets! I lost my appetite! You must rest! They are wrong about exercising while having shingles because it can cause more cell damage!

I am on day 10 since first rash appeared. Still in massive pain and not eating very much at all- every time I do, the pain in my stomach gets worse. I’m on morphine, and that’s barely touching it! Last two days I e developed a full body tremor. Lord knows what this is like without antivirals! 🤮

I know the pain of losing your pet. I lost my dog i had for 17 years and could not work for a month. The pain and emptiness is so real and it really pulls at your heart strings. Try your best to stay strong and remember all the love they gave u in life. Honor them even after death.❤

Thank you, Staci, for sharing your journey. It gives me great comfort. I lost my dog, Cheyenne two days ago and I can't find any peace and comfort. I exhibit all the pain and suffering you went through. I keep blaming myself that I haven't visited her at the animal hospital because I had to work and I can't miss work or I wouldn't have enough to pay for all the household bills and stuff. Then I still had to take care of mom with Alzheimer's disease and I did plan to visit her and bring her favourite food but she wasn't able to wait for me and she passed away without me by her side. Someday I'll learn to live without her and life goes on believing that someday I will see my dad and her with the rest of the dogs whom I have loved and shared my life with. Thank you, Staci, for giving me comfort.

I am in the exact same position with my rabbit Sherlock. He was 7 1/2 years and I'd had him since he was 6 weeks old. He was with me through everything, breakups, the pandemic, he truly was the best boy. He had to be put down 2 days ago as he'd lost the use of his back legs and would have no quality of life. I couldn't go back to the house that night because as long as I didn't go back and see it empty, there was that possibility in my head that he was still there. I fully feel your grief and if anyone is reading this, take things at your own pace, you don't have to pack everything away ASAP. I'm sleeping cuddled up to my fluffy rug atm because it feels like his fur and it's the only way I can sleep.
