Fuck jonny Marr. This fella dose not get the recognition that Marr does. He wrote this when he was 17 and sings while he's playing maj7th or 13th or 9thb5. I could go on. It's like listening to django rhienhard but singing as well. Underrated genius
@AlistairBurnsGashead2 ай бұрын
Agree with much of what you say though Johnny Marr's genius lies in other areas and needs not being fucked on that basis. Roddy Frame is quite special.
@stevecharlton1452 ай бұрын
I agree but as a guitar player I get pissed off that players like roddy don't get the recognition they deserve. The music press are very selective. When I played bass on 1991s mush by leatherface. Nme ect described us as a band who could go places and they remarked on our appearance ect. Where people in the states liked our raw approach. Appreciate the reply. You're aboviously a cat who knows what you're talking about

I wish Roddy hadn’t listened to Mark Knopfler who apparently told him to keep it simple and stop throwing in all the chord changes. For me that blistering pop virtuosity was his trademark and worked so well in juxtaposition with his plaintive but quite simple vocal style. Knopfler was probably just jealous of his skills anyway😂

Was it the day where the DVD was recorded or the other one?
@AlistairBurnsGashead4 ай бұрын
They might have recorded the DVD over both nights and used the best performances from each? I only recorded every song from that night because I was feeling ill and not in the mood to get up and boogie!

Sign of a good band ... Roddy increases tempo at the beginning and they follow him quickly.

Can't believe there were arseholes in the audience that were heckling and shouting ' get on with it' when all Roy was doing was putting context to the song he was about to play..how utterly disrespectful and begs the question, wtf were you doing bothering to go in the first place???...unbelievable 😡

If it weren't for Paul, this guy would have been a nobody singing in a church choir someplace. A wasted voice. He owes everything to Paul, you know, the guy he hosed over to do a stupid movie that went nowhere!!
