Great video. Only had a beard for about a year and have been going to the barber shop monthly for trims but I want to do it myself. After this video I think I can. Gonna have to pick up the MT-1 trimmer for sure. You make it look super easy. Thanks for the tips and pointers. Good look on the beard.

Great video. Have had my beard for a year and keep about the same length as you. Have been fumbling around with different trimmers and routines to keep it a good length. Picked up the MT1 last week and will give your routine a try for sure. Thanks!

What is the difference between beard oil and butter? Can I just use oil daily?
@livebearded15 сағат бұрын
When it comes to beard oil, that is meant for the skin UNDER your beard. This helps keep your skin moisturized and hydrated. As our beards grow they draw away the natural oils from your skin causing dryness and itchiness. The beard butter helps keep its shape as well as maintain the flyaways. Hope this helps! We are always here to support however we can!

Hey, great stuff! Looks really good. I have about the same beard length and similar routine, but I never thought about going across the middle area with the guard, I've always just gone down, but I think what you just did creates a better fade look with the bottom jaw area having a little more than the cheeks. I'm curious about any pre-trim recommendations you might have - i.e., do you wash and condition first, do you let it get completely dry before trimming, do you put any product at all beforehand? For the upper cheeks do you do it before you've moisturized or put any other product on your face (sunscreen, etc.)? Thanks!
@livebearded15 сағат бұрын
Before you start trimming your beard we do recommend washing the beard and applying product just like you would every morning before you head out for the day. You wan to style your beard so you can identify the areas that need to be trimmed.

I'd recommend using a guard instead of going straight in potential too deep and cutting off more than intended. You can gradually tapper down through guards towards the base of the neck.
@livebearded4 күн бұрын
This is true! We always like to express treating it like a hedge since most enjoy the length but want to take away the fly aways or dead ends. You can always trim more but you can't trim less.

OK, I am 67 and at about 30 days for a first time beard. Having been in the military and law enforcement, I just never was able to go more than a week without shaving. Because of going bald and shaving my head and now going into Winter, I thought that I would give it a try. I use an oil daily and brush it. The mustache and chin are thick but the sides are pretty thin. I was happy to hear that it may take more than 60 days to come into being. Thanks for the positive info in your video.

I'm looking to maintain a specific length, basically just long enough to wax into a point. How do I trim it back down after it has gotten too long?
@livebearded8 күн бұрын
The best way is with scissors and go in at an angle. But make sure you have it styled before trimming it back. We have bunch of how-to videos on our blog, livebearded.com/blogs/do-better

i get the cheek and side lines, but what about the neck line for a long beard? from straight on i can't even see my own neck line to trim it if i wanted to. i want it to look sharp, and i desperately want to straighten the damn thing. beards are more complicated that i expected when i jumped into this. ps: the tombstone smells phenomenal.
@livebearded9 күн бұрын
If your beard is growing past your neckline then don't worry about it. We only suggest keeping your neckline trimmed for people that have more of a shorter beard where you can visual see that neck line.

@@livebearded appreciate the feedback guys. was thinking of giving yall a ring but decided to watch a few videos. unfortunately most seems geared towards shorter, or medium sized beards so didn't really address a longer beard like mine.
