I appreciate all your modelling tips, but the part with the ornamental lily could have been done with less effort, if you had just made it flat and added the curvature via shrinkwrap modifier. Still very good. Thanks!

This is so cool. My friend builds race cars for a living, & makes sculptures out of the extra parts. I was trying to re-create (from a photo) a sculpture he did of his dog where he used a thing like this for the head. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it is or how to make it right, since my photo doesn't show everything, & I couldn't even google the name, didn't know what it was called. Thanks.

Hey John, I just press K while using PolyQuilt tool and it seems to work. PolyQuilt tool -> Press K when ready to cut, click start and click end point -> Right click if you want to make more cuts, or enter to confirm the cuts. Thanks for the videos :)

Hi Mr. Dickinson. Thanks for all your Tutorials. - as the Comments are deactivated on your Video "How to Sync Blender Preferences Across Multiple Computers" I have to write here. The addon is no longer supportet and got archieved by Blender as it doesn't work. So please ad this to the video or take it out. It's super confusing when beginners try to follow it, just download it by your direct link and then Blender Cloud never works. As the comments are deactivated there, no one can write there that it doesn't work anymore. Blender write to this: This repository contains the Blender Cloud add-on. Since there is nobody available to work on it, it has been archived. Thanks for all your work. (If you read this comment, you can delete it, or answer me, then I delete it if you want, as it has nothing to do with this video)

The gap is there because of how the scales are bending around the egg shape. It's an easy fix, just pull the TOP vertices of the scale that goes UNDER everything else (i.e. in your grid of 4 scale parts, the bottom-most part) and pull it up a fair ways underneath the top-most part. Doesn't matter that you're stretching it because it's supposed to be hidden anyway, but it'll block the gap when the shape is deformed.

Wouldn't it be easier to start with the little ridges at the perimeter? Then fill in the flat areas later.

the only ASMR channel I need :) still on c4d for work but when I do some spare time modelling I started going to blender. So far I'm having fun, however I am also appreciating c4d more today for its modelling core as I did in the past. Both applications have their strong and weak points in modelling
