ECU fault could be a number of things but it looks like the bike is riding ok so PROBABLY it's fine for a test ride... I'd probably not BUY that bike if it's already throwing codes... KTM reliability seems to vary and bikes that have problems sometimes have LOTS of problems, friday bikes or something like that. The bike is not really an enduro... more like a good base platform for building a lightweight ADV bike. I've had minor issues with my 2021 but nothing major in 50k km. (about 60% dirt/40% pavement) as for alternatives... AJP PR7 is the only one that comes to mind, and now the Ducati if you put dirt tires on it. 500exc is definitely better offroad but is terrible on pavement so it depends on what kind of riding you like to do. This bike really is for mixed use (and IMO piling on the km's)

Very good, honest, balanced and unbiased review. I fully agree with some of your observations especially on plastic gear shift lever, crash bar mounting on engine, and exposed frame that would be easily scratched when riding off-road. I know they have different models for more off-road oriented riding which provide enduro gear and brake levers but other issues are still there. I think the other issues can and will be fixed with software updates but for the amount of money you pay for these machines you would hope you get better gear even on the base models.

Hi, thank you for the video. I do feel the smoothness touch of the clutch lever, but I could easily identify the friction zone on mine. But you’re right about the panniers. BMW is facing a problem with it and it’s not solved yet. Things, unfortunately, that happen all the time when a manufacturer launches an entirely new bike. There are always some niggles to take care of. Overall the bike is a superb machine. Though I would appreciate if they have put the retro illuminated buttons. It’s a premium feature that is lacking on a premium bike. BMW should have taken care of it from the scratch of this 1300 GS, no doubts about that 👍🏻
