Basil Poledouris and Conan Barbarian/Destroyer inspiration is really strong in this soundtrack

Best "oriental" theme in history of video games and one of the best in general, i think that only music from Mummy and Prince of Egypt can beat this.

I agree with folk talking about the inspiration from the Conan soundtrack, but 0:18 - 0:35 is straight out of Ben Hur the Chariot race

Yaga-Shura's feet stomping the ground. The world shakes and you tremble! I heard this for the first time with Yaga-Shura encounter. It is appropriate.

The only true problem with ToB is it is too short and gives you no space to explore and barely has side quests. There is so much area they could have used and didn't, same goes with BG2 truly

I kinda miss this kinda music in the EA version of BG3, guess you can't beat the classics
@Godunow1002 жыл бұрын
Bear in mind that this is battle theme from TOB, where your character is a demigod fighting other demigods. This piece surely wouldn't fit in BG1 and even most BG2 fights (maybe except fights with dragons and Irenicus).

Such excitement getting to Mellisan for the first time with the first character I ever completed the game with. This song made that long anticipated battle so much better as Jonas Solondor, high priest of Lathander defeated the taint of Bhaal and freed himself along with his companions Keldorn Firecam, Valygar Cortana, Jan Jansen, Jaheira and his lover Neera...

one of the rare, better portions of the snorefest game BG2. Watcher's Keep had a truly eerie atmosphere (although the scientific demons did dumb downs things a bit)

A lot of classic "epic" fantasy has aside from whatever else also a sort of (late afternoon) "sunshine" (even if in grassy, woody areas) feel and I always thought that had too, fitting to the area (from outside). Although I might also have played it in summer, which could contribute to it.

The part at 0:53 always gets me feeling epic. Generally, all of BG saga had epic scores, but they really upped the ante during ToB. Very fitting for the ascendance of a god!

One thing that I don't think the developers didn't take into account: Some species have FAR LONGER lifespans than others. For Bhaal to have sired a blue dragon, namely one to old enough age to have enough scales for full plate armor, he would have had to have mated with Abazigal's mother OVER ONE THOUSAND YEARS before the Time of Troubles, well before Bhaal even became a god, let alone existed as a mortal. Fire Giants, I'm not sure about, but I'm pretty sure they live for a couple hundred. Drow can also live for several hundred years, if not the same seven to eight hundred that surface elves can. Either way, it seemed like they both didn't know and didn't care. A shame, really.

That would mean two things possibly: p2w, and shallow grinding instead of a great storyline/campaign. But if you say that because you want better graphics, there are still games like DOS II. Multiplayer is also an option i think (haven't tried it).
