I just hate to see classic cars getting destroyed for basically no reason whatsoever and if they are trying to raise more money than they should use a very different type of car then is a classic muscle car. It really is very sad to see this because these cars are not easy to find and they are starting to get very expensive to buy them. Who is the world that uses a very beautiful looking car for demolition derbies in my opinion they should not be using these cars for any type of derby but we have stupid events and I understand that this is to raise money for an important thing but using a classic car is just stupid and it's just my opinion on it. Who used the Corvette? The Chevy Monte Carlo SS is not a very cheap car and none of these cars are very cheap and most of them are not a very good derby car. I am just glad that nobody is dumb enough to try this kind of thing again.

So they aren't going to hold any more San Filippo Smash events, ever? What happened?
@oldirondemolitionderbyvideos4 ай бұрын
The promoter, Spinning Wheels, is hanging it up to be with their family - they are the whole reason this event came to be, having lost children to this disease. They do a lot of derbies throughout the year and it's just so much of their time spent away from family, so they are stepping away. They have done so much for Sanfilippo Syndrome over the years, creating awareness and raising so much money so Sanfilippo families can enjoy a wonderful weekend together (which I think is usually spent at Hershey Park). I can only hope that MAYBE someone will take over the event and continue this amazing fundraising event.

I was thinking the same thing, that it really belongs somewhere that people can appreciate it's history. Unfortunately, most horse racing tracks are closed in New England so there are very few places that have a place to keep it. It would be pretty neat to have it and fix it up for car shows, like you said, it would get a lot of attention. Thanks for watching!!
@bwilliams4634 ай бұрын
@@oldirondemolitionderbyvideos I don't even think you'd have to fix it up much; just a tuneup and a good going-through. The engine's gotta be really low-mileage. If you just want people to see a unique vehicle, there'd be no need to do a big resto.
