i wanna do this with d76, the bleach and ilford rapid fixer . can you give the exact instructions on how to make the bleach? thank you !
@adycousinsКүн бұрын
D76 isn’t very good as a reversal first developer, especially not with Kodachrome, you need a much more contrasty developer, plus potassium thiocyanate 5g/L and potassium iodide 0.05g/L. You can make the first dev more alkaline to increase contrast by adding 10g sodium hydroxide to your D76. Use a separate second developer - regular D76 will work fine. The peroxide / acetic acid bleach formula can be found in the video description on my Reculver film: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6vZaYN_ZrlketE

@@adycousins Thank you! so i basically i just need to add 10grams of sodium hydroxide in my d76 (i assume 1L of d76 if that’s correct) and as second developer normal d76?
@adycousinsКүн бұрын
Yes, but with Kodachrome you absolutely have to use potassium thiocyanate in the FD too - unlike B&W reversal film K40 is 3 emulsions stacked on top of each other (each composed of fine, medium and coarse grains), without an active silver solvent like thiocyanate (not hypo as in the Ilford doc ) it’s almost impossible to get clear highlights, the film comes out dense and low contrast and the bleach isn’t able to shift all the exposed sliver.

What is revolutionary is the future technological management of inflation through the use of generative AI which is the overdetermination of the self-sustainability of capitalism. Precisely, he does not include that first part, but my academic research supports Slavoj's central fascination with capitalism. An "arithmetical mean" if there ever was one in the decision-making of the Federal Reserve must be the consumption-based capital asset pricing model that is the core of macro-finance according to economist Max Gillman; even though it seems probable, generative AI ironically might not automate management through a mathematical formula like a Taylor rule that depends on endogenous variables; AI might use different methodology like asset pricing in accordance with the particular average economic policy or ethic of discourse. What a lot of words pouring out without anything being said. Interesting to note, in the 60's Paul Foot spearheaded the campaign to clear the name of criminal psychopath James Hanratty who murdered a man and left a woman raped and paralysed for life. This he used as a hobby horse to clobber " the establishment" Tories, old boys at Scotland Yard and to expose anti Irish sentiment in the UK. He was proved wrong conclusively by DNA profiling and the original investigation, despite ones views on capital punishment , was safe. He of course never apologized to the victims and families of those affected by his relentless campaign.

I see there is some discussion on the reliablity of peroxide-bleach, but you find it consistent reliable, and not damaging the films?
@adycousins8 ай бұрын
Although it mostly works, and I still occasionally use it, I find it a little inconsistent, with eg Tri-X 7266 presenting real problems with either blistering or incomplete bleaching, whilst Tri-X 7278 and Plus-X work quite well. I wouldn’t call it reliable as it really depends on the nature of the peroxide- which I’ve found to be variable. Kodak patented a series of peroxide bleaches in the mid nineties (as they sought more ecologically acceptable options), but switched from dichromate (R9) to permanganate (R10), probably because of the inherent problems with peroxide.

I recently bought a k3 and it came with a TASMA OCH 50 roll. Have you ever tried this film? Could you recommend a developer and development times for this film? Previously I have only developed 4x5 so this is my first roll of 16mm and I was mainly thinking of using it for testing until I get the g3 morse. I was planning to do two developing sessions and use the spaghetti technique in a Patterson multireel 5 tank. I was wondering if caffenol or d76 would work here. Thanks in advance for your help !
@adycousins8 ай бұрын
Hi, I’ve never tried this film, but I see that it’s intended for reversal processing, so it may have a silver anti halation layer intended to be removed in the bleach stage of B&W reversal processing. I’d shoot it at 12-25ASA and then remove the spool in complete darkness / dark bag, take the last 30-40cm and do a test strip by lowering the strip 5cm at a time at 2 min (20degrees C) into a bottle of your chosen developer to test a range of times. If you’re going to reversal process it then D76 is a bit to low contrast, a higher contrast developer like D19, or even D8 would probably work better - or if you get your hands on some Orwo A71 developer that would be perfect (I have the formula somewhere too). Otherwise if you’re doing as a negative then D76 is a good option ( you may need to add some more bromide to combat fog).
@adycousins8 ай бұрын
…probably the Foma reversal kit would work
@ilichcastillo8 ай бұрын
@@adycousins Thanks Adrian, since it's my first roll, maybe I'll go for the simpler development, just the negative for now. I just remembered that I also have a pack of d96 somewhere, I have no idea if this type of developer would be more appropriate. OTOH, if I had to use any caffenol recipe which one do you think would be a good option?

@@ilichcastilloD96 is similar to D76 but has less sulphite iirc so more grainy. Caffenol-C-H would probably work
