Not saying its right or wrong but in the army we were specifically taught to put some oil in those 2 holes and lube up most the parts pretty wet. We also cleaned our weapons regularly tho more than most civilian shooters would

@edtronel2955 Yes, 100% I was a 19D and we all basically dunked the BCG in CLP. it made them more reliable for the environment, and elements. Now as a civilian mostly shooting static range it is unnecessary to use so much oil. All it does now is dirty up my rifle even quicker, especially shooting suppressed. I appreciate your comment brother. Side note: I oil my gas rings but I don't squeeze an oil applicator nozzle in there and full it up, which is what I saw at the range. And lead to me making a quick video 🤙

I put a good squirt in the gun and manually slide the bcg back and forth until it feels nice 👍🏼😅
@evanacey14142 ай бұрын
You should ALWAYS drop oil in those holes where gas is expelled from your carrier because that is your gas ring run. The AR15 bcg uses an internal piston to operate… And your gas rings function identically to the piston’s rings on your car.. You DEFINITELY want those lubricated. I don’t see a point in putting any oil down your gas key, though. Personally, I lube up the four rails which contact your upper then I put a bead of oil around my gas rings when my bolt is disassembled, then I put it back together and lube up the cam pin/cam track and I’m gtg.

I am telling you now. Even the Navy Seals guy is putting oil in that vent hole. Navy seals and Army SFG, dunno about MarSoc; there are a lot of tons of dummies. They were physically strong enough to pass selection but not smart enough to make it through more than two contracts. There was a guy dumb as fuck barely passed selection. He even caused friendly fire, couldn’t listen to instructions, and couldn’t maintain his weapons, so his MK18 was seized on a mission. So he had a bad reputation, and nobody wanted to team up with him, but we have no choice sometimes, especially in the small team units, right? he was forced to ETS. I saw this MF on some KZbin channel, advising people on how to clean the AR. I was shocked and shook my head. He poured CLP on the vent and bottom of Mag Insert, slid back CH 5 times, and said, “This is how badass clean their weapons. Now you’re good to go for another 1000 rounds.” smh, bruh. seriously smh…. that's what I’ve been telling him for fuckin 3 years not to do and still doing shit bagging and innocent Wanna-be-GI-Joe- civilians were buying him because he was simply a SEAL???? This is a clear example of how nonsense information is flooding the internet. Bout 90% of Infos on the internet is wrong. IMHO

That to me is WTF why would you even think of doing that?
@boosted28092 ай бұрын
@douglasbaker5949 he literally was pouring slip2000 down the gas carrier key. Not just the holes on the side, which everybody is concentrating on in the comments lol. I lube my rings, but I take the bolt out of the carrier, not just fill it up with oil lmao

Been oiling mine for a minute and running suppressed. A drop or two in both holes while in and out of battery and then work the shit out of it so it spreads around inside. I also do this all after the range.

Really depends on oil type. If you're using quality oil like a CLP or most synthetic gun oil out there then it'll be OK as they break down carbon and helps seal the gas rings. Gun oil is build to withstand high heat and pressure thus they won't gunk up.

So, get rid of .273 gears & pop in 3.42 and add 9 lbs of boost. While not super fast by today’s crazy standards it was then. 2 questions what is a ranger band and the purpose of it? And what is that little pouch that you got for 10 dollars?

Basically, it's a thick rubber band. We use them in the Army for all sorts of crap. The little pouch is to throw used mags in. However, I usually just have my phone or a water bottle in it honestly. 🤙

For anyone wondering, the TOURNIQUET IS NOT IN SEALED PACKAGING. I STAGE IT LIKE I DO MY OTHERS AND KEEP A PIECE OF PLASTIC OVER THE TOP THAT FALLS OFF WHEN I TAKE THE TOURNIQUET OUT OF THE HOLDER. It's the 2nd most important thing in my belt, so I protect it as much as i can. I actually train with my equipment so it gets wet, muddy, sandy, etc. I also have 2 on the front of my plate carrier for use on myself. The one on my belt is so someone can use it on me or someone else if I'm not able to.
