He doesn't even have an "upright sprinting" phase. He stays in his stride used to get to 60m, hence he slows down. There are a couple of other well known sprinters who do this. Professor Su can finish his works and figure out how best to approach 60M-100M. He has done a good job dissecting starts and acceleration, but i believe in his own mind he is at the "limit", when the fact is his stride is not good for the top end speed, but it's perfect for accelerating.

His coach obviously thinks he's at his limits. When its clear his stride and posture on the top end can use some work. He's not the only one who does this. There are also other known dominant accelerators who aren't in a good posture for a fast finish.

But still he will advantage on his longer stride if he lose his acceleration if his taller, just like many others that didn't accelerate as fast as him at the start but catch up later on him. So, acceleration is strength, but longer stride is an advantage.

Hey Chris h, if you did just a little more research you would of learned that height has nothing to do with speed. Stop listening to the commentary, especially Michael Johnson, they & Michael have no clue what they are talking about. They assumed that's what sets Usain apart from the rest of the sprinters & this isn't the case at all. Usain was the most powerful. Soo his records will be broken & I promise you the sprinter that does it will be under 6' tall.

@@biggalaxy9102 height definitely has something to do with stride length and top speed. But again, its unfair to say its an advantage, because its a disadvantage at the start of the race. If it was an advantage every sprinter would be tall. But yeah. Bolt was tall, but had a ridiculously good start for his height. I agree its unfair to say he is the fastest just because of his height
