Hi there, I’m looking to get started crappie fishing. Do you know any places to find submerged wood in your local lake?
@so.inoutdoors20 күн бұрын
Hello! I believe in your local lake submergent vegetation would be ideal, especially with the lower water levels. Most emergent vegetation has fizzed out now, but the submergent that is still green will hold the larger concentration of post spawn crawfish from their last dark moon breeding season. I like to fish these areas with a saltwater spook for early fall slabs 😂

@ thanks, I’ll be looking for submerged vegetation the next time I go! Im sure it’ll be easy to find with my flasher.

@@willjones4152make sure to find those deep weed lines …that’s where the bigger papermouths will post up during those chilly December days to come. It’s all about the weeds on your home pond

I think just one more advantage to help you like you it doesn’t put fish in the boat
@so.inoutdoors23 күн бұрын
I wish it would make em jump in the boat sometimes!😂 unfortunately it hasn’t worked that way yet !!!

I have taken a few of my double willowleafs and removed the upper willowleaf blade. I'm experimenting with moving the now single blade closer to the tie in loop just a scooch. A lot of the compact/finesse spinnerbaits are hard to find in heavier weights, and their blades already go back way past the skirt. This helps clean up the profile a little and gets the blade over the top of the bait a little better. Less lift. Less torque to "roll" the bait when you want to churn and burn. Keep the extra blades in the boat and you can do a lot of tweaking on the water to get more or less lift/speed.
@so.inoutdoorsАй бұрын
That’s a great idea! I’ll have to do that. I prefer that my blades not extend way past the hook. So I like to keep some small tubing to space my blades up a bit on the frame.

My mom has a house in southern Indiana right on the Ohio river. With a boat ramp in walking distance. Just south of Madison. I just brought my new to me skeeter in January and can wait to get on the river and try my luck. Any suggestions
@so.inoutdoorsАй бұрын
That is awesome! The river can be tough, but depending on the time of year and river conditions, it can be awesome. Right now I’d start to focus in the mouth of the creeks and springs that feed in. The Shad will start to group up here as the days get shorter and the water cools.

i couldnt imagine tryin to fish northern lakes and the ohio river without livescope. it 100% hurts the crappie population on the smaller inland ohio lakes. at least the amish dont have it yet or the lakes would be empty. lol

I have 9" with live and 360, and I'm contemplating adding a 12" is the 12" that much better? Does it have a better resolution?
@so.inoutdoors3 ай бұрын
I run the 360 on my 12, and mega live on the 9, the picture on the 12 with live seems a bit more stretched. I feel the live picture quality is better on the 9 personally.
@steveodonnell29215 күн бұрын
That's exactly why I'm getting Mega Live. I hate fishing without knowing if their are fish around or not. Fishing deep is something I've always wanted to do so with ffs I believe I'll have more confidence. Great video, thanks for your time

All star nano graphite rods , I have been using them for about 5 years now and they take the abuse. They are as good as any $200 rod I’ve ever owned and are less than 1/2 the cost! Stiff back bone but a forgiving tip.

I’ve found fishing the banks around the marina at patoka and up those 3 fingers off to the right are good for decent largemouth with an 8” black Berkeley power worm. Most of the tournament bass stick around this area for a while when released and black seems to be a failsafe color. Been fishing patoka for 38 years. Painters creek area at the stickups for crappie seems to work better than anywhere else.
@so.inoutdoors6 ай бұрын
Around the release area is good for sure, lots of the fish once released kind of hang around for a good while. Can’t beat the ol power worm! I like black or my favorite color is tequila sunrise. Good luck on the water and have a blessed day.
