Thanks for your comment, I think if you stay in downtown Ipoh that will be so convenient for you, and if you stay in Weil hotel, it is just beside the best shopping mall in town

Good luck spending money at a so-called 4 star (got demoted frm 5 stars) joint that uses its pretty facade to veil its line of idiots running the place. Everybody knows hospitality is all about service hence human resource is key, not to mention the need to uphold a certain standard of performance and quality which definitely has come up wanting at this hotel. Culture plays such an essential role beyond merely a posh and swanky veneer. And if they gonna start saving up by hiring cheap and inexperienced staff (which they are doing in actuality, while not providing them with the right adequate and necessary training), someone's obviously doing things all backwards. There are a no. of hotels in Ipoh that's more worthy of your money. Pricier, unfortunately in this case, fails to convey better quality, esp. after the post-covid re-opening. My advice: Put your money where the mouth is. Trust me, i've stayed here an upteen times before and after covid so i can tell how they've 'evolved'. They certainly are more concerned with their own bottom line than guests' wellbeing. Don't gamble with your special occasion, vacations, etc. Memories are for a lifetime and should be sweet and cherished. If you insist on gambling, i suggest you hit it off at Genting (at the very least, you still stand a chance at earning some $ in return)

BUYER BEWARE! Club Med’s latest change of terms and conditions on 1 June 2023 in relation to changes to your bookings has got to be one of the dumbest and most ridiculous policies I have ever experienced in the Hotel services industry. My friend booked and paid for 2 chalets at Club Med Cherating, Malaysia for her family and her parents but a few days before their stay, her parents had a personal matter to deal with and were no longer able to go. So in order not to waste the room, my friend invited me and my wife to stay in her parents chalet instead. However, when she called to inform Club Med of this change, she was told that Club Med deems ANY change to a booking as a cancellation. So if my wife and I wanted to stay in the chalet that my friend had already paid for, we would have to pay in full for the exact same room AGAIN even though it would not cost Club Med a single cent more to change the name on their system. My friend was obviously shocked and frustrated with the response as the Chalet had already been paid for so it shouldn’t matter who stayed in them if her parents couldn’t make it. So she contacted Club Med to appeal their decision. However, they simply repeated their ridiculous terms and conditions and rejected her request again which left my friend fuming and swearing that she would never ever go to Club Med ever again. Apparently any changes made due to personal reasons is not a valid reason to qualify for any changes whatsoever. But it gets even more ridiculous! I contacted Club Med myself in the hope of resolving the issue. I actually told Club Med that I was willing to pay for the Chalets again, IF they could provide me with a reasonable discount since the chalets had already been fully paid for. I explained to them that this would help make the situation a bit better for everyone involved ESPECIALLY CLUB MED as : 1. Club Med would get paid extra money for doing nothing more since the rooms and food were already paid for and I was offering to pay them more; 2. they would make my friend less stressed and angry about the entire situation and wouldn’t lose a customer who has been going to Club Med with her family for years; and 3. they would be introducing the Club Med experience to my wife and I and potentially gain a new customer. However, after explaining all this as clearly as I could and after the person I spoke to escalated the matter twice, Club Med once again rejected my proposal and repeated their terms and conditions that ANY CHANGES TO BOOKINGS CONSTITUTES A CANCELLATION. They said that the terms and conditions had changed on 1 June 2023 and my friend made the booking on 7 June 2023 so no changes would be allowed!! While their website promotes the fact that their new policies are there to enhance overall travel experience and to make it more efficient and convenient for their customers, this experience with them shows us that this is not the case at all. This came across as a pure money grabbing policy. So if you’re thinking of ever booking a holiday in Club Med, I strongly suggest you think very carefully as my friend and I would not recommend Club Med to anyone ever again after this shocking experience. It baffles me how a multinational company like Club Med can spend millions of dollars a year on marketing and advertising to get new customers but when an existing repeat customer and a potential new customer actually offered to pay them extra money to try out the Club Med experience, they are rejected and left with a negative impression that will last a lifetime and will definitely spread through word of mouth… Absolutely shocking! 🤦🏻♂️
