@averagemoto Seen any drones where you are? Iv seen a number over the last 3.5 years. Filmed several. Last night I saw a green orb over the city. It shot left to right at high speed changing direction instantly. Then just shot straight up and vanished. Only way I can describe it is like a forest green coloured orb. Not that bright. Kind of dull.

Oh wow, it seems like the perfect place for getting away from crowds and the city then! Would like to explore on an adventure bike or 4x4. And with so much air traffic and light pollution nowadays it's hard to say 👀. But one things forsure, privacy is becoming non-existent.

It happened on my 2023 MT-10 after I upgraded the pads to SBK track and street pads (I think) brakes worked great for about 500 miles and suddenly I had lever to the bars and crashed. So the fix was simply deglazing rotors and putting the stock pads back in and have had no issues since then. Now I just bought a very slightly used 2024 R1 with 3k miles the rotors still were brand new bright with cross hatching from the factory to seat the pads....Within the first couple hundred miles of canyon carving the brakes are fading badly after several miles of hard braking in tight down hill twisties...I SERIOUSLY doubt the original owner upgraded the pads as the bike still has the original damn front S23 after 3k miles? It still had new tire rubber tits all over the sides of the tire so I KNOW the guy was honest about never riding at a track or the twisties. He did do some upgrades like he wanted to ride to fast things like ASV levers and tank grips but the bike is obviously totally prisitne never pushed at all....idk maybe he just did a shit job seating the pads when bike was new and they are glazed? LOL or didnt hardly use the front brakes at all so that in 3k miles they still were not seated?? IDK but I am sure worried and am looking for the best fix...any suggestions?
@averagemotoАй бұрын
It's honestly pretty difficult to troubleshoot without experiencing it first hand, but one thing I noticed early on is that the R1 and FZ/MT-10 come with very dead feeling linked brakes. On long hot canyon days I usually have to push my lever out a few clicks on the R1. If reverting back to the stock brake pad and rotor combo doesn't fix the issue along with bleeding the brakes, then maybe you can check some other things like, seeing if the calipers are sticking (which I unlikely given how new it is) , lever adjustment distance (it seems small but I've tested a few bikes where the lever was so close to the bar that there was no way you could experience full braking once you got going at normal ride speeds). Anything else I could think to suggest are probably things you have attempted already.

I may have to go ride one. I have a GSXS1000GT that I love, but looking to add a 2nd bike. Got rid of a 23 MT09SP because of rough ride, crap seat, and not enough power. The 14 Superduke R before that didn’t have cruise, no quickshifter, and didn’t turn in quite quick enough for me in the NC mountains. It’s like the lighter bikes turn quick, but ride rougher and don’t have the power. So many trade offs. I see 16-18 SDGT’s so cheap. KTM is proud of their oil filters though.
@averagemoto17 күн бұрын
Sorry for the late response, didn't get a youtube notification. I think that you will enjoy the SDGT. I've heard that the early superdukes handled like oversized supermotos and weren't as precise so I understand why you passed on the duke. The SDGT is the best of both worlds. All of the power and handling of a sportbike (handles better than my r1 on road), with long-distance comforts. It may not be the most comfortable bike around town, but twisty roads are where this bikes shines. Maybe try test riding one and let me know your opinion.😃

@averagemoto17 күн бұрын
A Tuono would be fun. A few years back, an Aprilia dealer gave me a factory Tuono to ride for the day and told me to ride it like it was my own...I agree great handling bike haha. The only problem I had with the Tuono was that it basically had the same crammed ergonomics as a regular sportbike, but if that isn't an issue for you then the tuono might be a fun bike for rides less that 150 miles.

@averagemoto5 ай бұрын
No oil on the road, but the rider did bounce a few inches in the air when the bike stood up under power making them nearly highside. It's hard to tell on camera, but there is a low point in the pavement where the road is sinking. Unfortunately they hit this while they were transitioning and unsettled the bike.
