No one noticed that oscar is portrayed like a ravenant but thinking it a little bit more, he is perfect for a ghost?. Also, one-shots are heresy.

This series is weighed heavily on the Overview and barely any advice. Mostly just repeating what is WRITTEN in the adventure path book. I would not suggest reading up on book of the dead's ghoul ancestry just in case a PC becomes a ghoul. unecessary extra reading for the GM. Why not come with suggestions and possible hooks? Why did you not go into details on why Allen Rosk was difficult in your campaign - do you have suggestions on how to change him? Did you consider the deadlight healing effect in combat could extend a fight so far it stop being fun? Any suggestions for the lurker in light? Or the haunts? Tactical suggestions for Nhakazarin besides "use consume masterpiece"?

Thank you for the very honest feedback! There's more advice later in the series, but I agree that l could expand on that. Regarding some of your points: Aller Rosk was hard for my party because they had pulled multiple ghoul encounters into one, and then added Rosk to it. He deals a lot of damage and has means to heal himself, so that got pretty nasty. Nhakazarin is a caster and needs a chance to get some spells off. I personally think the encounter with her could be improved by moving some of the regular ghouls into the temple to aid her.

Dont cut your campaign short. youre cheating yourself and your players out of a satisfactory end to a campaign. If there is a natural conclusion sure go for it but if it feels rushed the disappointment will taint the new shiny campaign.

I am currently running Abomination vaults. The books do not really do a great job of foreshadowing information about future chapters. I know I should probably read all of the adventure before running it, but I am lazy. These videos have been a great way for me to get the jest of what's coming. Thank You. Keep them coming.

Hey thank you for taking the time to produce these videos they are very helpful. I have a question. The module makes it clear that the more locks came up from down below. Do we ever find out where they were dwelling before beforehand?
@the_chindividual
@the_chindividual Ай бұрын
From what I can find, we never get an exact answer to this. The introduction of floor 2 mentions the Ghost Queen morlocks lived in caverns deep below and adjacent to the Vaults. Considering more morlocks show up on floor 5, there is some connection that is not mapped out in the AP. I think it's best to assume these deep caverns have some connections to the Vaults that the morlocks can use, but that is not relevant to the AP as written.
@gnomebreath

@@the_chindividual Thank you! I missed that reference. I get that the Miflits moved up because of the Morlocks, but I wasn't sure what to think about why the morlocks moved up. That's very helpful.

Very much appreciate the video. Just curious, what about the Gogiteth makes you consider them Eldritch or cosmic horror? [I think we actually might just differ in our definitions of 'cosmic horror', so I guess I'm mostly curious what you mean by it...]
@the_chindividual
@the_chindividual Ай бұрын
I think there's two things that make the Gogiteth *feel* like cosmic horror to me. First, there's their alien physique: the long spindly legs, the many mouths and eyes etc. Second, it's their potential link to the Dominion of the Black and indirectly the Dark Tapestry. I can imagine them as Tapestry-born offspring of eldritch gods, which the Dominion is now using for mysterious intents.

I fought against a flock of these things in one of my games. That was one of the most exciting fights in that entire campaign. They were trying to snatch us up and forcibly feed us to their swarm of babies. It took everything we had to escape their grasp and kill them before we became the next meal.

I have been looking through all Bestiaries / Monster Core released so far, and I could not find any other monster with art that looked as nightmarish as the Gogiteth. I tip my hat to the creator of this creature.

Great video. Not too long and a good overview! My Party totally skipped the Boss Skrawg room and opened the secret door to floor 2. So what I did was - while the party rested in town - let some other, unknown monsters come up through that door, massacring the Mitflits and leaving a message, written in Mitflit blood on the wall ("Death to the unworthy") with a blood trail going right down through the newly opened secret door to floor 2. I also let some cultists come up to the lighthouse, performing a ritual around Belcorra's blood right before I started the dead tide to strengthen suspicions of something going on below (but I planned for these to come through the northern building, so they did not run into the Morlocks necessarily).
@the_chindividual
@the_chindividual Ай бұрын
That sounds cool! I really like the idea of cultists gathering up at the lighthouse for a ritual. That should help clue the PCs in on the fact something is about to go down.

You might want to try starting your videos with a hook: set the scene for us and build the immersion up-front. Don’t be afraid of getting creative and hamming up the description and the lore. Then when we are intrigued with the monster, that’s when you should give us the details. More importantly, I wanna know why YOU like the monster, why YOU think it’s unique and interesting, and the kind of stories YOU want to tell with it or about it. Anyway it’s a good start, keep it up!

I think foreshadowing things to come makes everything feel more...cohesive, but the AP as written isn't always that good in pointing out stuff that will matter later / you might already want to foreshadow. Glad to hear the video helps with that and it's appreciated :)

Thinking ahead in the future: it must be hard to choose what to do after Abomination Vaults (which still has a good number of floors to go), given the enormous amount of possibilities! Paizo has a lot of great standalone adventures that might be well suited (as they are not too long), other than the 3 book APs that have been published. I would love to see a guide for Shadows at Sundown and Malevolence. For the more "advanced" groups stuff like Night of the Grey Death, or the Fist of the Ruby Phoenix AP would be cool too. Maybe you could do a poll ? Guide for adventures of other games would also be welcome! Keep up the great work!
