Even though I never play this game, I do love the cutscenes!

I think i know an reason why the other characters have a spring. The game usually just sets whatever characters' warp position if they dont have one to sonic's, but emerald coast due to the other characters like gamma and big being able to play it, had data for act 2 likely scrapped in development, meaning they all spawn at 0,0,0.

I love colosseum and xd I just wish they'd get a remake instead of everything else... xd is better graphics wise, there's expressions, more pokemon, more complex shadow moves which is great, but u prefer colo characters and story

You actually died on the last Expert level, as long as you don’t use a continue you can still unlock the extra stages, if you lose a single life in Beginner or Advanced you would be taken straight to the ending cutscene
