I believe the requirement was that it was to be "bound in leather or a similar material", so presumably fake leather qualifies. It seems that they were made to be as cheap as possible, so I'm not surprised that it isn't real leather.

Thank you for this information. I did not know about Oklahoma wanting to teach the Bible in school - and then requiring all the add-ons that benefit a presidential candidate. I'm old enough to be your grandmother so I remember when Bible teachers who were on television started selling Study Bibles with their names on them, with their commentaries written along side the Scripture verses. At that time, I thought of the warning in Rev. 22:18 to not add to what is written in God's Word. When Donald Trump started advertising the Bible with add-ons that he thought patriotic Americans would appreciate, I had the same thought. The Name of the Lord and His Word deserve to be placed high above that of man and man's words. The Gideon's are supported by Christians to give the Bible to hospitals, prisons, hotels, military personnel, etc., and I'm sure they would love to supply them to all students - free! I appreciate your comments in this video.

I agree with you. By blending your nationality and your ethnicity with your Christianity in my opinion waters down your Christianity to the point where it essentially means little or nothing. What one essentially is saying is that "my nationalism and my ethnicity is on an equal footing with my Christianity". That is complete Blasphemy. There is nothing in the universe on an equal footing with Christ. He is God and he "is" the "Creator" of all things. Nothing or no one can equal that status.

The reason KJV is necessary is because it is the first translation straight form the Greek language. All other translations are from KJV and their words are omitted or added in every bible after that, do your own research. Commandment from GOD ALMIGHT to not add or take away from HIS word lest you be accursed. KJV FIRST translation. Your rhetoric is nonsense. I don't usually like public Christian figures getting too political because it can harm our gospel message to those of opposite political persuasions, but this time I think it is warranted. If they really want a NKJV bible with those characteristics for some reason they should get a normal bog-standard NKJV and put a printout of the constitution in each one. This feels like an attempt to deliberately make a law specifically to make a political figure money, which is highly corrupt. Also I do think that mixing the bible and patriotism like this can risk something akin to idolatry, which is not good. And I think you do have a unique position as a Northern Irishman in calling that out; the rest of the world can all see what happened in Northern Ireland. If I was being charitable, I might say the reason for mixing the constitution in is both of them are designed to teach the historical background of the USA rather than christianity specifically. Most likely though, it's a money-grab fuelled by something akin to idolatry, unfortunately. On that survey, though: it's pretty self-contradictory. Look at question 2: "there is one god in three persons: father, son and holy spirit". Almost everyone agrees. It seems many people on the surface both affirmed and denied the deity of Christ in the same survey. This indicates to me a lot of people aren't understanding the questions correctly. It may be people read "Jesus was a great teacher..." and ticked yes before reading the rest of the statement. I'd be interested to see what the response would have been to "Jesus was not god, but he was a great teacher". Of course, you could say the same on the flip side: perhaps people say "there is one god..." and ticked yes before it got the the trinitarian bits..

Yeah I try to stay out of political commentary and stay in my Bible/theology lane, but I thought this was an interesting overlap. Glad you thought it was worth making. And I'd say that charitable perspective is probably best case scenario; though the way it was worded made it seem like they primarily wanted to teach the Bible, and the inclusion of those various documents was almost small-print. And yeah, you're right about the survey - I'd first read it a while back and forgot about that previous Trinity question. My bad. But it's probably best to allow room for error when it comes to people understanding either of the questions; I guess no survey is perfect. Great thoughts though, thanks for sharing as always.

@@AllThingsTheology Yep. From Cyril of Jerusalem Catechetical Lecture 20: "As soon, then, as you entered, you put off your tunic; and this was an image of putting off the old man with his deeds. (Colossians 3:9) Having stripped yourselves, you were naked; in this also imitating Christ, who was stripped naked on the Cross, and by His nakedness put off from Himself the principalities and powers, and openly triumphed over them on the tree. For since the adverse powers made their lair in your members, you may no longer wear that old garment; I do not at all mean this visible one, but the old man, which waxes corrupt in the lusts of deceit. (Ephesians 4:22) May the soul which has once put him off, never again put him on, but say with the Spouse of Christ in the Song of Songs, I have put off my garment, how shall I put it on (Song of Songs 5:3)? O wondrous thing! You were naked in the sight of all, and were not ashamed ; for truly ye bore the likeness of the first-formed Adam, who was naked in the garden, and was not ashamed. Then, when you were stripped, you were anointed with exorcised oil , from the very hairs of your head to your feet, and were made partakers of the good olive-tree, Jesus Christ....." (it goes on to talk about 'exorcising' anointing oil and then actual dunking process afterwards, triple immersion in this case) There are also pictures in the catacombs of people being baptised in the nude. Obviously paintings aren't identical to pictures (and I will add that the paintings do retain some sense of modesty in how they're drawn); but you can see parallels.

There is no Scirpture that says that a wife CANNOT leave her husband. The closest thing we have, is I Cor 7:10-11, where it says that she should not leave him, but it comes with the caveat that if she does, she should either remain single or else be reconciled. So that option to remain single, is given, according to the apostle Paul. Obviously Eileen was not rying to marry another man, for if she were, the church would not have been trying to force her to reconcile with her husband. Jesus did NOT say marital unfaithfulness was the grounds for divorce! He said pornia, which is not really abuse, is the exception to the husband causing his wife to commit adultery. This obviously does not apply to the woman leaving her abusive husband!

Dear Andrew, to me regretfully, you seem to be running with the hare and hunting with the hounds. Read Paul's Epistle to the Romans, chapter 1. I f you find anything there that supports transgenderism and its propagation, please let me know. Genesis 1:28 says "So God created Man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." In Mark 10:6 Jesus is quoted, "But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female" There is no option for transgenderism, certainly not in threassemby of God's people. Is Archbishop Welby and the band of modernists trying to say that poor God did not know what he was talking about? That modern man has progressed beyond the outdated morality of the Bible? That we should follow science? Science changes every few years. "Believe the science", we are told. What utter twaddle and codswollop! Believe the Word of God in the Bible.

We can do the same thing in reverse. The doctrine of the Trinity was cooked up by a bunch of old men who believed all revelation and miracles had ceased. So let's rephrase some scriptures to clarify what the scriptures actually mean in light of the doctrine of the Trinity. John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to myself: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto myself. John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, I worketh hitherto, and I work. 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that He was his Father, making himself equal with Himself. 19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth Himself do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth Himself likewise. 20 For the He loveth Himself, and sheweth himself all things that himself doeth: and he will shew himself greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 21 For as He raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so He quickeneth whom he will. 22 For the Son judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Son. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Son which hath sent himself. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on me that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of Himself: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as I hath life in myself; so hath I given to Myself to have life in Myself; You like to make fun of Mormons. Imagine the fun atheists can have with your screwy man-made non-Biblical Trinity doctrine.

He was not making fun of LDS, he was pointing out the differences in theology from Christianity. And quoting all that scripture doesn’t change the fact about the Trinity. John 10:29-30, My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of my Fathers hand. I AND THE FATHER ARE ONE. I know it’s hard to wrap your head around the concept and you’re taught to defend your belief with scripture that is out of context. I’ve had many meetings with missionaries and I’m married into a LDS family. But saying that Mormonism is a “restored gospel” is sorry to say but ridiculous. The Bible clearly says that Gods word will never return void, do you honestly think a sovereign God is not able to protect and keep is word intact? I pray that the veil of deceit is lifted from your eyes so that you may walk in REAL freedom in Jesus Christ

@@carolinad878So you believe what some Catholic men decided was the true nature of God, in Nicaea? Are you Catholic? If you are Catholic, how do you explain all the changes in doctrine over the centuries? Why is the church called "Catholic", and not anything to do with the name Jesus Christ? If you're Protestant, how do you explain the loss of truth, the lies and debauchery, killings in the "name of God", etc etc, and come out of that believing that God stopped talking to man, yet some man figured out the Catholic church had deceived and perverted the truths, and somehow came up with the truth, authority, and right to act in the name of God? Those stances are far more unbelievable than the LDS claims. Protestants believe an uninspired man found truth in the scriptures, defied Catholics and started their own church (not authorized by Christ, not given authority by Christ, and didn't even call a church in his name). Catholics and Protestant teachings are built on sand. They're built on men, doing the best they can, in their own names. That's not the way of the Lord, that's deception and self agrandizement.

People who "expose" Mormonism are simply recycling the crap that's been handed down from before the church was ever established. For example, Mormons do not believe they can become equivalent to Jesus. Total lie. How could anyone arise to the level of the Savior without also doing all what the Savior did? It's too late for us to live a sinless life and pay for everyone else's sins. Duh! The Bible states we are gods, and children of the Most High. But that means "gods" with a little "g". We view Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ as "super-Gods". The Savior defined godhood as having overcome all things through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Look at the promises for the faithful listed in the Bible. It's simply a matter of definition of terms. Remember the scripture stating we can't imagine what God has in store for the faithful. So if we can't imagine what the future holds for us, how can anyone claim to know what the future cannot be? Why do Christians always limit what God can do?

I'm no longer Mormon, but I find it interesting that some mainstream Christians feel the entitlement to define who is or isn't Christian based on their own belief and interpretation of the Bible. For example, the application of Ephesians 2:8-9 alone to mean that works have zero to do with salvation is interesting, especially considering how the New Testament is littered with requirements of people who want to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. While I think I understand that ultimately, no matter what we do, grace is the only way in which we will be worthy to go to heaven, I also interpret several passages to mean that we have requirements (works?) to perform in order to be saved. Ephesians says that "for by grace ye are saved through faith" while James 2:17 says "even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." If you were to use both of those scriptures together then you'd understand it to mean that works is a demonstration of faith, and that grace is what allows us to be saved through faith (with works). It's not completely unbiblical to think we have to do things in order to be saved, as we're told in Matthew 18 that we need to be humble like children to enter the kingdom of heaven. In Matthew 4 it says that we have to repent. In Matthew 6 it tells us that in order for us to be forgiven we have to forgive others. We're also commanded to love God and show that love through keeping the commandments. If none of those requirements matter, and it is by Grace alone, then why are we given all these requirements? Maybe I'm misinterpreting all of it, but I don't really understand how the Mormon belief is so radical or doesn't go along with the Bible. Maybe if you solely use Ephesians 2 then perhaps it doesn't go along with Biblical teachings. But the New Testament has other scriptures which point to things we need to do in order to be saved that go beyond just having faith. As far as the teachings about heavenly mother or about people having the ability to be gods, that's uniquely Mormon and not biblical, I totally agree. There are a lot of things that Mormons believe that aren't mainstream. Jesus as their lord and savior, though, is one of them, even if certain aspects of their belief around him isn't mainstream. I don't think those are valid reasons to not label them as Christians, but apparently you have the ability to gatekeep Christianity and can decide that. So whatever, doesn't really matter to me personally, but I don't get it.

You said you are LDS so I need to ask do you believe God was a man who earned his godhood through obedience? If so, who is his father? The one true God of the Bible is spirit, Jesus Himself said so. So as you can see it’s a different god. Psalm 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God.

Yes, the Bible says that God is spirit. So are we. Have you read Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 5:3? What do these passages tell you about the physical relationship between God and man? The adoption is because we choose to belong to God through the covenants we make with Him. He created us, but we need to want to belong to Him, or we can choose to belong to Satan and settle for something less than the glory that our Heavenly Father desires us to have.

Yes, I believe that our Heavenly Father once went through an experience very similar to what we are going through right now. How do you think that He might know that this is the best way for us to become like Him? Even Jesus learned by obedience, so why not His Father?

@@michaelnicholas5587 God is omniscient (all knowing), omnipresent (everywhere at once), and omnipotent (all-Powerful). These qualities belong to the one true God alone. He wouldn’t be God if He wasn’t creator. Numbers 23:19,KJB 19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

@@michaelnicholas5587 On the last day of creation, God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). Thus, He finished His work with a “personal touch.” God formed Adam from the dust and gave him life by sharing His own breath (Genesis 2:7). Accordingly, humanity is unique among all God’s creations, having both a material body and an immaterial soul/spirit.

@@Jesusismysavior58 If God the Father is omnipresent, then what is the need for the Holy Ghost? Yes, God is not a man as we are, He is a perfected (exalted) man in every sense of the word. He is what we are striving to become. What do you think our purpose is here? What do you make of Ephesians 4:11-12?

While she may came from the land of Prosperity Gospel, which is extreme self love; she is not wrong about modern Christians re-defining love. Like judgement, we twist love into 'I judge you (tell you how you live wrong), because I love you. We are told to give away our possessions and serve God's people. That is the love we are asked (required) to show. We as Christians, should be at the doorstep of every politician advocating for worker's rights, fair housing, quality education, food security, a violence free home for women and children, minimum income security, more equitable tax code, accountability for squandering money by building cheap social housing, laws that protect renters, etc. We (including myself here) lack the action of true love for our fellow man. We need to vote in leaders who advocate for the poor instead of leaders who protect the wealthy, who, ironically, are the same parties (GPO & Tories) who loves to bash pride month and rail against single mothers and abortion. When we don't act in the love of God, non-believers cannot see that love. I have been in church since birth. I've seen the type of people she's talking about throughout my life. We cannot ignore these people are loud, proud and out here. They make more noise than we do. They influence our law makers. They support the wealth building parties to protect their private pensions. If I had not know of the true nature of God, I might be cynical too.

Christians often do ignore the judging others verses. Yes, the American Christian extremists are more vocal, but everyday Christians are prone to this. How often do we openly (and happily) declare how we don't support how other people live their lives? A LOT!!! We rail against same sex couples, transgendered people, the unwed who co-habitats, those who choose to be childless, etc. We condemn women who have had abortions. There are many rectors in the C of I who won't baptise children of unmarried couples or preside over the funeral of a suicide person. We rarely have this energy for tax dodgers, embezzlers or lying politicians. What Jesus meant is 'mind your business. Who are you to point out the sins of others?' or 'Get your own house right.' or maybe 'If you live holy, others will see me in you!' . She can make judgements b/c she is NOT a Christian.

@@KathyStrickland-nh9vx Nonsense. In those two Genesis verses I gave you, did you notice the wording of "likeness and image" used in the exact same context? This should tell you that we are physically just like God. While we do not have perfected bodies as God does, we are made in His image and likeness. Did you know that there are 13 New Testament verses that either directly state that baptism is a saving ordinance or indirectly point to it as being such? If there is only one Heaven and one Hell, and as the Bible says in Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. So, if the vast majority can't find the way and are cast into Hell, how does that sound like a loving Heavenly Father? That is complete nonsense. What would your child have to do to you to cast them into eternal torment? Do you not think that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us enough to provide a place where we can be happy, even if that place is not with them?
