Not True. I got my Scottish fold when he was 8weeks old and his eyes were blue as the sky and stayed like that for at least four more weeks before turning green & yellow

They are able to, but not recommended to spay/neuter that young. Many rescues will as they'd rather them done before adoption to lessen the chance of more litters being born, but if you can, please wait until at least 6 months.
@helga438511 күн бұрын
There's no scientific reason to wait until 6 months

Always wait until physical maturity to neuter or spay.
@Replicanna-rl6zg11 күн бұрын
around 10 to 12 months,never less
@helga438511 күн бұрын
What's the basis for those claims? Waiting until sexual maturity is not recommended by any reputable veterinarian guidelines I know of, and the most recommended age for owned cats is usually around 4 months.
@CrownGrief10 күн бұрын
@helga4385 it's been very evident in both dogs and cats that waiting until physical maturity when a body is fully developed that the animals live longer, healthier and more comfortable lives. Imagine if you had a complete hysterectomy at 8, same thing. Your body wouldn't develop properly.
@helga43859 күн бұрын
@@CrownGrief evident how? Which studies or veterinary guidelines can you quote that directly show a causal relationship between early spay or neuter and adverse health outcomes? Cats and dogs are physiologically different from humans, and they also age differently. Most cats are sexually mature by the time they reach 5-6 months of age. Waiting to spay or neuter even beyond the age of sexual maturity increases the risks of various diseases, particularly cancers and pyometra. Also, the ovaries produce sex hormones, the uterus doesn't generally affect this. Your analogy is a moot point, even disregarding the fact that an oophorectomy in human children is done for completely different reasons, what with it being remedial treatment instead of preventive. And with completely different associated health outcomes. Of course, spay or neuter your cat when you think it's best. There are multiple reasons why postponing a spay or neuter may be sensible, like pre-existing health conditions that must be taken care of first. Or even just your personal estimates and what you and your veterinarian decide best fits your pet. But please don't spread statements like this as general advice as you did earlier, that would be misinformation.

@helga4385 ... literally thousands upon thousands of examples in a simple google search as to why you should wait until beyond a first heat or at least sexual maturity. There are even pictures that show the difference. I'm not going to be a keyboard warrior here. You should do proper research.

I'm gonna still let my cat be 6 months before I get her spayed... Not comfortable doing it at 8 weeks.

Why are you publicly admitting that your wife nearly never wants to fuck you? I would think it was a joke.. but I thought those "my wife never puts out" jokes died off a long time ago... so you might be speaking from the heart... in which case, id see what you can change/what changes she is also willing to make. Try to tall to her about it. I'm celibate by choice (because I have no interest in fucking random people anymore)... but I cannot imagine being in a relationship and not enjoying one of the best parts about it- connection. Idk.. but good luck, brother. ❤
