I went over the side of this trail like 20 years ago. Maybe 100 yards past the rock waterfall section that is a pain in the ass. My goggles were so fogged up from exertion that I couldn't see. Peg tore off my work boot (got real moto boots after this ride). Had to climb up from probably 60ft below with one boot on back to my bike. Luckily no injury. Will never forget this trail!

This was the hardest trail I've ever ridden. I lost all confidence from this trail. I slid down the lower bridge stream section. This gave me nightmares. Still

Was kind of a fun test, did it on a KTM 1290 super adventure, had to lean it pretty far to make the circle. 600lb bike wasn’t the best bike for this test but the bike had loads of torque so never had to deal with clutch or throttle. Had a guy in a rental Vespa before me and he couldn’t even make it past the cone weave, hit 3 of the 5.

He drove no car before he worked at a car dealership, and now he drives a bmw. Ummmmm, yea because one of the salesmen talked him into buying an over priced car that he cant afford. Isnt that why you had to give him the 1k, cause he was behind on his payments😂😂😂

I hope someone sees this but i passed my written test and im waiting to buy a motorcycle and get insurance. Once i have the bike registered and insured can i just take the test or do i need someone else licensed to ride a motorcycle with me?

In California, and most states, once you have passed the written test you have a permit and are not allowed to have a passenger, go over 55, or ride at night until you pass the driving test.

It angers me when people are camera-phobic. Or maybe they were just being squares about the rules. Both those things really make me disappointed in people. Thanks for the vid; helps me feel more calm about my upcoming test. :)

They straight up played you about the recording rules. You're definitely allowed to record inside the DMV it's a public building.

It’s not only a public building they’re government employees, and the law is very clear here they cannot prevent you from recording in public spaces or government employees in an official capacity unless it’s a closed proceeding.

listen up, lads. Don't show up to this unprepared on you're big bike thinking this is easy. it's INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT because these "skills" have literally nothing to do with real world operation. Get a dirt bike, or if you really skate easily, rent a 50cc scooter. if you're not gonna cheat with a small bike, you need to at least get out there and practice before you try... you'll see how incredibly dumb the test is

Completely agree. The test is incredibly stupid, with no relevance to actual riding. I think there are a lot of bikes its not even possible to do the test on. And to top it off each dmv has a different size circle (all smaller than state regulations) and different cone spacing.

yep. Written gets you a permit then you take the skills. borrow a dirt bike or scooter for the skills. this test is notoriously dumb and has nothing to do with real world operation. I failed on a CBR 900 then passed on a 50cc scooter. how dumb is that? lol

A “no” vote doesn’t actually have any effect. This required 2/3 of the assembly to vote yes, regardless of anyone who didn’t attend or didn’t vote.

YES it failed! However you vid was premature. At the end of your clip, Jones-Sawyer moved the bill so that it could be voted on again. Another 40 min of blathering about the Diablo nuke plant and SB918 was back up for a vote. Maienschein withdrew his AYE vote and the bill finally failed at 52-23. Goodnight to all that stayed until adjournment.

I took this test 15 years ago and passed on the first time. I didn't renew my license and had to retake it today and I failed lol.

i prob would've just turned it off after they said you passed. no need to come waltzing through there with a camera in plain view. somebody could say their address and you'd capture their audio

you can ride it there if you have it titled and registered. i wouldn't ride it there without insurance tho, in cali the police will impound it if you don't have insurance

To clarify. I need to take the freeway in able to get to my nearest Dmv . Learner’s permit says, not to drive on a freeway. I am assuming that it is OK to drive to freeway on the testing day?

@@t2deck No... there's always surface streets... BUT... the chances of getting pulled over are slim and even if you are pulled over, a cop is likely to be understanding if you're respectful. I road in the freeway for over a year with just a permit. I'm not saying it's "okay"... I just never had a problem. I even got pulled over at night with only the permit and the cop didn't even bring it up. He just wanted to search my backpack. Then he was mad when he found the drugs and Glock... I'm just kidding. I was pulled over at night and the cop didn't even bring it up

So, I just have one question, you shifted up two gears, we’re you supposed to turn around and come back shifting down two gears, in which case you (presumably) were already on 3rd gear when you turned around and came back?

Nah, making that turn would be a little tight and hard to stay in 3rd gear, shift up twice down twice, turn, same thing
