You will never have legitimate scriptural support for mourning with someone over their inability to murder children.

Jeremiah, What does the Bible mean by those who mourn? Though the death of a loved one is commonly the reason for mourning, the beatitude you referenced is referring to a mourning that lies even deeper within us. Jesus wants us to mourn our SIN and the version of ourselves that was once ruled by the ways of the world. Problem is Jeremiah, that what you stated indicated that there is a wall between those who are celebrating TRUTH and those who are mourning their perceived 'restriction' to SIN against God by limiting 'free will' to MURDER. I stand on the side of truth and will PRAY for those who are now disheartened by not being able to resolve their 'problem' as they wish. MORE time, effort and funds should go into the Foster and Adoption Programs that are shored up by Faith Families but grossly underfunded. Clearly the call should be to to REPENT Psalm 119:59. As a sinner - I am thankful for God's saving grace in my life.

Jeremiah, I pray you receive this well. “I believe that life starts at conception”, everything after that statement contradicted itself. If we proclaim the Word of God, that states “thy shall not murder” listed as a commandment, than something like Roe vs Wade being overturned on a federal level would be seen as a step in the right direction. There is still so much more to be done. There is a time for mourning and a time for celebration (to dance) (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). It is a time to rejoice in truth, not a time to mourn with evil. I think you took the verse “mourn with those who mourn” out of context, and I would call you to correct that error. Here’s why: You are leading your people astray. As a pastor, you are held to a higher standard. The Word of God must be preached exactly the way it was written without using verses to support your own conclusions and views. Romans 12:15 that was misrepresented says “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep” (ESV) But right before this verse it says in Romans 12:9, “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast for what is good”. Context is everything. “Abhor what is evil”. We are called to hate what is evil. To detest it. The murder of a child is evil. We should hate it. When something provides a step in the right direction in order to putting that to an end, we should celebrate that. Thank God for it. And we should call those who are grieving over it to repent. Especially believers. They need to repent. They need to be called to repentance. Especially by someone like you, a pastor. We should not be mourning with them, we should be educating them on the gospel, in which I think you didn’t express in your message to your people. Instead you told them to comfort those who are mourning this decision made in court. The comment you made about the foster care system, and how many children need parents, seem very contradictory to your original statement. It’s almost as if you are saying that the birth of a child, continues to grow the problem of the foster care system. What was your point when you made that comment? Are you suggesting that more people adopt? Or suggesting that abortion is a good solution because less children would be born with parents that can’t take care of them; thus solving the foster care situation? Do you see how this statement could cause problems for those who listen to it? There was no clarification as to why you brought up those statistics. There was no solution given in your message besides “let our church be a safe place”. I think what’s more important than a church that is a “safe place” for everyone is a church that speaks truth, and speaks it boldly. Speaks it without hesitation, without error, and without fear of being offensive or losing numbers. Stands tall in the midst of the world, and what it believes. A pastor that doesn’t try to make the gospel attractive, but simply teaches what it says. We are in a war in this world as believers, we need to be prepared for battle. We must fight against the enemy, and the enemy is sin. And murder is sin. We should be calling people who participate in sin to repentance, God’s wrath is coming on them, and with that so is hell. I pray that moving forward, you’d preach the gospel, instead of an emotion driven gospel, that supports the worldly view of abortion and love. Prepare your church for battle. Build up disciples that know how to defend their faith, and do not rejoice in evil. I’ll be praying for you and your church Jeremiah. My heart aches listening to this.

walls have been put up against the church because of sin! instead of standing against those who are for righteousness why are you not encouraging people to be the parents God wants them to be, to obey Him and take care of foster kids, adopt and not defend abortion because people are sinning against God by not being obedient to Him. You are being lukewarm and need to get very serious about what it means to be a true disciple of Christ. You cheapen the Gospel by excusing sin for any reason.Murder is never the answer! Obeying God is the answer!
