I watched this video 8 months ago before attempting this job.....I told the owner I would replace the starter in his truck for $500 labor.....he didnt have $500 available so he offered to pay me $800 at a future date stating that he uses this truck to earn money.......and he gave me a shotgun to hold as collateral. 🥺 I feel like selling the shotgun to recoup the money he owes me. Its been 8 MONTHS and hes not made ANY effort to contact me nor pay me what he agreed to pay me. What would you do? The shotguns nice. Its a Remington 870 Super Mag with hard shell case and multiple accessories. I used it this past hunting season and it shoots fantastic!

@@zr1ne it's not an easy job to replace the starter. Some people remove the exhaust manifold to gain access to it. But the manifold bolts could strip or break. I think a small O ring seals the dipstick tube, easy fix.

Great video. For the guys that have trucks from the north around a lot of road salt keep in mind the 4 t20 torx screws will be rusted out and you will have to remove all the brake lines to remove the module and drill out the rusted heads off the torx bolts.

I have a 99 silverado and have replaced all four calipers because all four brakes were dragging, they still drag. Booster is dry inside. I was going to replace the flex lines but after replacing one that brake still dragged...can you shed some light on what causes all 4 to drag? I can`t get a clear direction to go in through searching. that is some good insight on the module! would a bad module cause the brakes to drag?

You saved me on this one. In the middle of changing my Starter on a 2010 Toyota Sequoia 4wd. Has 190K miles on it. Original starter. Took the right engine mount nut off and jacked the engine enough to get the old starter through the rail and the exhaust manifold. Of course the solenoid connector lock broke as soon as I pushed it. Had to order another connector with pigtail. Thanks for this video, not sure if I would have thought about jacking the engine up to get it out. You the man!

Without question, the best camera work I've seen of removing this module. Glad yours went well. A very common problem with this series GM ABS pump is that the pump runs continuously whether key is on or off. As said previously in this thread it's because the relay contacts are stuck closed. There are several companies that will repair this module, one of them being Module Master for around $130. I've simply had my 60A ABS fuse pulled for the past 16 years on my '01 Tahoe and have had no worries other than BRAKE/ABS lights on the dash are on. Thanks for this video.

In astro vans, front to rear brake proportioning is handled by the ABS pump. By pulling the fuse it sends most fluid to the rear. I am just learning this on my astro. I go through rear brakes every 4 months.

This has to be the cleanest undercarriage I have ever seen on a four wheel drive truck. The use of dielectric grease really makes a big difference. I can tell you I fixed mine also with the solder trick. I am just amazed that they did not solder the joint correctly at the factory. Wonder why that is ??? How many years have the ABS modules been fastened onto the frame of these trucks ???? Did you use silicone gasket material to seal the case ?? SOLDER IS CHEAP. Nice work fella too.
