I made one like this but with about 5" deep K&N filter inside and sudden large throttle openings on the big engine was slightly soft for the first second so i fabricated another intake pipe on the other side of the carb air box not as large as first one and it cured it, it may be that it was the gap round the large filter being a bit of a restriction that caused one barrel to get starvation of air due to sudden air turbulence or something , It was more noisy without the internal filter and an external filter. The gap round the internal filter was about one inch on top of filter but only about half inch round bottom inside the case it was a 1390cc and semi race cam tipped at 6700rpm 124hp

Thanks. Its a 1380, fully worked head, weber 45. Nothing particularly special. Straight cut box, drops and final drive :)

Hi. I actually never ended up making this design. I designed 5 other similar products but due you constraints with space at the bulkhead I just stuck with my 30mm ram pipes and foam filters. Does the job. I’ll get around to making one of these one day.

Sounds like you changed to SCCR gearset here. Using a 3.9 or 4.1 final drive?

I did change to SCCR set. I think the final drive was 3.4 at the time. Since changed to a 3.9

What final drive ratio are you using here? Sounds like a standard wide ratio gearset too is that right? Changing gear at 7000?

What is the silver soundproofing have you used on your roof? Does it stop it from drumming?

Its a basic foil covered tar type soundproofing patch from ebay. It doesnt make a huge difference but it does help. I've got 2 on the roof, a few behind the dash, foot wells and in the boot.
