Good evening…I am just beginning to entertain the idea of tying my own crappie jigs…I really enjoy your style…some very nice looking jigs…I’m having a hard time finding the unpainted jigs heads…I want to also learn how to powder paint as well… So…where is best to purchase the unpainted jig heads (ball/pill-head/minnow/etc)? For a beginner, where and what feathers, chenille, etc should I start with? Any ideas or recommendations for tools, materials, etc would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance

This is terrible… the one thing I do not need is to get him to time my own baked and making my own lures like this. Is also the type of thing I can picture myself doing. I have way too many activities right now. I’ve been trying to get out fishing. It seems that it’s been impossible. I really really cannot handle another hobby.

Mustache... thebacc is right! As you are building up resin layers, fine glitter can be added. You can even sprinkle the fine glitter in a small container and apply with a fine paint brush. I have come up with sick designs doing this. I will add also that you can add the color shifting pigments into the resin in addition to the glitter and it will absolutley blow your mind. Color shift pigment is excellantvwhen adding to resin. The combinations are endless.

Ya I am getting ready to retire and I am afraid it isn't going to be much of a retirement! Not ling ago I had a small accident while using a table saw. Still got all of my fingers but did break my index and middle finger on my left hand. In doing so it shut my jig tying down which meant orders started backing up big time. All of my customers were really nice and understood but ordered continued to pile up. Tried getting my sister in law to help. Although I taught her how to tie a really nice qaulity jig she just wasn't fast enough. This week is the first time I have even tried to get behind the vice. Got to get me muscle memory back. Skills are still there but the fingers are very stiff and after a half dozen jigs my fingers get really sore and weak. Will take some time. As of today I am about 37 orders behind. Most are small but I several that are over 100 each. Have several short arm spinner bait orders that are needing attention but bending the wire in the custom jigs are very challenging. I will get there eventually. I want to thank you you for your channel. I enjoy watching others tie especially when they produce a high qaulity jig like you do. Due to being a subscriber and following you I was worried when we didnt see you for awhile. By the way....we really didn't think this thing through when we decided to start tying for the public. I am just glad I don't advertise and most of my orders are through word or mouth and anglers I meet in tournaments and out on the lake.
