Mathematics itself here 🤘 - Both are correct If we take the smaller angle ∅ , it's the case that we generally do , A vector × B vector = ABsin∅n^ n cap is unit vector normal to the surface ( found by Right Hand thumb rule , and remember the fingers go from A to B *covering the angle ∅* . But if you take the other angle that you said 360° - ∅ , the result will come negative , _but but but_ , here's the twist , you also have to curl your fingers from A to B *covering the angle 360° - ∅* . Means although you have got the result negative , but negative in opposite direction which means positive in correct direction . Conclusion , when the angle 360° - ∅ is taken , you get AB sin(angle > 180° ) (-n^) /\ | | | /\ Negative value So , it will cancel the minus of (-n^) Giving us the correct result _√_ Maths works 👍 the point is that you listened it from somewhere and didn't even bother to think about it .
@TheScienceCube
@TheScienceCube 14 күн бұрын
Thank you for your thoughtful analysis! You're absolutely right that mathematics is flexible in this case, and both approaches lead to the correct direction for the cross product, provided the correct method is applied. When we use the smaller angle ∅ between vectors A and B, the right-hand rule directly gives us the direction of the resultant vector C as C = A × B = AB sin(∅) n, where n is the unit vector perpendicular to the plane containing A and B. As you pointed out, if you instead consider the larger angle, 360° - ∅, the sine function gives the same magnitude but with an opposite sign, resulting in AB sin(360° - ∅) (-n). The crucial part here, as you've astutely noted, is that when you use the right-hand rule for this larger angle, the direction is still consistent when you account for the sign change. But why would you want to complicate things by introducing a negative unit vector when the right-hand rule is designed to simplify the process? The whole point is to make it easier for students to consistently find the correct direction without getting bogged down by unnecessary complexity. Let's keep it simple and effective!
@FundamSrijan
@FundamSrijan 13 күн бұрын
@@TheScienceCube I too wanna keep it simple but it doesn't mean to give wrong information ( that you can only use smaller angle ) , you should introduce it this way and then say , we take smaller angle to simplify it . 👍

im curious why all capacitors have the same q in series circuit? because their capacitance (aka the amount of charge they can hold) is different for each capacitors so how can their q be the same?
@TheScienceCube
@TheScienceCube 13 күн бұрын
In a series circuit, the wire between capacitors remains electrically neutral, so any charge +Q on one plate induces an equal and opposite charge -Q on the adjacent plate. This ensures that all capacitors in series have the same charge, even if their capacitances differ.

I have a simple question: if body has turned for 30pi radians in one direction, it would mean that angular distance = angular displacement. However, if body turned 20pi radians in one direction and 10pi radians in the other, angular distance would still be 30pi radians, but angular displacement 10pi radians. Is this correct?
@TheScienceCube
@TheScienceCube Ай бұрын
Good question! What you have to remember here is that unlike in linear motion, angular displacement is NOT a vector quantity. It may surprise you but I'm going to show it in one of the videos which is coming in next 15 to 20 days. Therefore when dealing with rotation, we just use a term angular displacement and as such angular distance has no significance. Now, to answer your question, if a body turns 30π radians we simply say the angular displacement is 30 π. When it moves 20 π radians let us say anti-clockwise and then 10 π radians clockwise, We simply say the angular displacement is 10 π radians anti clockwise. Does that make things clear for you?
@Timetraveler0161
@Timetraveler0161 Ай бұрын
@@TheScienceCube What boggles my mind is that angular displacement is defined an angle between initial and final position vector. Fine. How can it then be more than 2pi, actually 2pi should mean angular displacement of zero (if observed point was at 0th coordinate), yet we don’t treat it that way but the one I insisted initially (I just didn’t clarify what’s clockwise and what’s anti-clockwise). Thinking of translational-rotational analogy it does make sense, but geometrically it doesn’t to me?

@Timetraveler0161 you are right, but that is the way it is...again it is because it is not a vector
