We love to feed our little feathered friends, but 3 times in the last fortnight we've found loads of little brown feathers in the garden, no body, just feathers. I think a sparrowhawk is targeting our garden so I am considering not feeding anymore, it breaks my heart and I feel responsible and sad. But at least I have your little birds to look at.

Oh that's so sad!!!! I thought I saw a sparrowhawk in the park but there's been no evidence in the garden, thank goodness!

When the little bloke comes out of the tree, I only see him make the pipping noise. He stops pipping when he's a few feet away, in the bath or on the ground. I didn't realise they sang until someone told me, but, when I listened to the song, I recognised it. Here, they sing when hidden or high up.

Do the females have sleeker, less rounded heads?
@issymclarke13 күн бұрын
Not sure, but it would make sense... I've read that the females are 'leggier'.

Its a fungul near the eye. It is not blind. The other is moulting .
@issymclarke19 күн бұрын
Yes - I panicked about Baldy - that Dunnock is now nearly normal after her moult. One of the two with the big tumours has died, the other still looks lively
