When I attended in the 70s there was Thompson/Higgins, Washington/Lincoln, Corbin/Olsen, Tanner/Henninger, Seal/Grote and Wetzel/Bayliss dormitories that were all full of students. But Higgins and Wetzel have been demolished and apparently, per this video, Tanner and Henninger aren't used for dorms any more. That signifies a huge drop in student census which is very sad.

I have it in for W.I.U. students! In 1973 I rode Amtrak from Aurora to Quincy. W.I.U. Students would turn the train into a sardine can! making it an unpleasant ride! Never forgave the students!

I'm seriously considering this school, as a senior in high school who hasn't yet had the chance to visit WIU, could anyone give me their honest opinion about the school, staff, and dorms? I'd appreciate it as I am wanting to visit and would like some insight into the school first, thanks!

Destiny Alee love it just get sick of the food sometimes but besides that it’s an amazing experience

I can...I went to school there in the 80s. It was wonderful. I briefly moved back in the fall of 2018 and saw a town that was dying. The school has already imploded Higgins and Wetzel Halls with Tanner Hall next o their agenda. When I went to school there, they complained the school enrollment dropped to 13.3k but when I returned to Macomb, there was 8.5k and half the businesses were dying. Sad enough, I wouldn't recommend WIU...I am so sad to say that as a former Leatherneck.
