Watching and waiting has always affected me in a strange way. While listening to it I always feel like a ghost observing me and my friends playing in a field from my childhood. It's weird because when I hear this song I get this strange feeling in my stomach every time. Moody's music has a unique way of doing that. God bless Justin for a beautiful song and Mike for the haunting mellotron.

Not sure why I had always overlooked the two 1969 albums (this and On the Threshold of a Dream) but they're truly great. Especially Pinder's contributions.

One thing that's so impressive about this album is the very strong presence of John Lodge in the songwriting. The Moodies are a band with four excellent songwriters, Hayward, Thomas, Lodge, and Pinder, with Mike Pinder really being the sort of undeclared spiritual leader, the man who set the tone in every respect. But the fact that they all wrote such good songs is one reason that there is such variety from album to album, shifts in mood and musical approach. Few other bands had such variety of voice in song to song, not to mention multi-instrumental ability. Only the Jefferson Airplane come to mind, and they too had four great songwriters (Slick, Balin, Kantner, Kaukonen).

Just heard oer the weekend that Mike Pinder died on April 26th. Apparently he had been suffering from dementia for quite a long time and the DJ daily Doug played this album and narrated along. What a beautiful timeless album. Rest easy Mike. You will be missed but your music will carry on.

Mike Pinder - RIP. This is probably my favourite album of theirs, and it starts with his fevered narration (following the Big Bang, of course)

KISS en todo su potencial. El mejor Kiss que ha existido solo es con los 4 originales. Lo último que vimos fue sólo una banda tributo. Es triste pero es la verdad

Found the Moody Blues in 1968 at the age of 18, when I listened to "In Search of the Lost Chord" in a record shop in Bristol (UK). I was smitten, and bought the album along with "Days of Future Passed". I bought every record they made since and was never disappointed. They have been the soundtrack to my life. It is timeless music, and head shoulders above the lift music we are all subjected to on the various media these days.

I have been listening to the Moody Blues since I was 5. I will say this there has never been a Group like this and there will never be another group like this again. They are by far the greatest group ever hands down.

I just don’t understand why kids these days prefer rap and hip-hop over music with melody and lyrics. I guess it’s the same with us and our folks. Their music was “old” and “lame” to us. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I listen to that old and lame music almost as much as I listen to the music of our generation, the 50s-70s.

My friend passed me this leafy green thing rolled in thin white paper and said smoke this. I did, and then he put on this album. My life hasn't been the same since that day. That was in 1991. I love the Moody Blues! Thanks old friend for that day.

My second Moody's album after Threshold. Days and In Search were unavailable. Despite the sneering comments from lard ar$e Danny Baker, the Moody's have a loyal following. Yes, I know there are lyrics that are toe cringing at times, but then there's a phrase or riff that harpoons your soul to the wall. Look at the comments on this and other uploaders, I'm 73 (and counting), we've been through LP, cassette, CD and now streaming. Still listening - and appreciating. Thank you for the upload.

Well, I'm listening to this a lot more since I stumbled upon your video here. I'd transferred my CD to my hard drive years ago via iTunes and hadn't even realized the first fifteen tracks were really one long form track. I'd probably have actually listened to the music if I'd noticed it was an ambitious long form composition but it just looked like a bunch of random short songs. My bad!

This music is an experience like no other. At least to me. Each song is so different and yet so great. So profound to, about life and death and childhood and how quickly it all goes by. If only we could all realize and understand this. What a waste. I first listened to this album when it first came out back in the day and it still blows mw away. I sent a link to my song and hope he will give it a listen. Cheers.

This was my first concert, I was 11 years old. I still have the ticket and program, both autographed by Paul Stanley. Funny how the ad indicates AC DC was going to open, but it was actually Piper with Billy Squier who opened that night.
