I see what’s wrong with it. Presentation wise, the way you hook the worm is awful. Watch a video on how to make a Texas Rig. Maybe buy some Gary Yamamoto Senkos instead to replace it (Green Pumpkin color is recommended). If Texas Rig is too much, try Wacky Rig by putting a rubber band on the middle of the plastic worm and hook it under it. Hopefully this helps.

For a beginner bass fishermen get gamagatsu ewg 3/0 or 2/0 hooks then look at the comments of those hooks and see what people like to rig,from there practice hooks sets, you could also try a 1/8 pink jig head with a 3 inch white curly tail grub and you’ll be guaranteed to catch a fish

Your worm is not hooked too well . Research different setups and try them... Plastics are a finesse game and a very patient lure as you are in full control of everything that lure does. Slow down... Deeper waters and cover are best for sunny time fishing.. pop pop pause..pop pause.. pop pop pop pause... Bass are triggered by the fall of a lure and tiny twitches with plastics.. your pause is longer the colder the water is... Don't be afraid to wait and feel the tug. Create your own rhythm

Look up videos on texas rig, try mepps spinners, hot n tots, spoons. I think drop shot set up is illegal in michigan rivers so maybe look into that to keep out of trouble. In the fall salmon run that river assuming you are at grand river

Have multiple types of baits from plastic worms, crawfish, spinners, crank baits (my favorite) catching your first fish seems like the hardest thing but once you do they gonna come non stop

Get some weedless hooks and hook it in the middle of the plastic worm. Wacky rig. Slowly bounce it off the bottom while letting it rest periodically.

Not sure what time that was, but typically around sunrise or just before sunset is the best time to fish. Night is good as well. I never have luck in the middle of the day When it's hot like it's been, fish like to stay cool, so they go deep or in shade and don't move much. When temps drop (sunrise/ sunset), they start hunting.

Seriously if you’re going to tip, do not panic always turn your kayak at a angle to the waves have it facing head on, and I also like to take my horses and use them as a balance by setting them across me the more you flail back-and-forth the more it will cause your boat to start to tip. I looks like a dirty PVC pipe used for “jug” fishing. You seal both ends of the pipe so it floats, tie a line with a hook and some bait and throw it in the water. After waiting a while you go back to retrieve the pipe and see if there is a fish on it. That looked like there was because it was bobbing up and down and standing upright.

im from lansing, 517 area. i'd be down to hit tech or the launch downtown by lansing shuffle- I also havent caught many bass this summer but would like to! know some other spots as well :)
