Ummm... no. Did you forget that these tanks have the cuck shell? If you shoot the last shell, emptying the mag, it will take like 20 seconds to reload the first shell. It's NOT a normal autoreloader. You have to stick with the last two shells for most fights, if you want to have any DPM whatsoever. Sure, you can use all 3 for a nice burst of damage when it is necessary, but otherwise you are taking yourself out of the fight for a long time so it's better to only use 2. This adds complication to the process and, frankly, is more than most people want to deal with when playing a tank. The single shot has GREAT DPM, better module damage, good pen, and literally anyone who has actually tested both will agree... the single shot is better. But you do you.

The so called "reserve shell" harms the gun more than it helps it. It's only useful if ur not gonna fire it for 20 sec. Otherwise, ur stuck with 10/11 sec of reload for only 320 (depending on which shell u use) compared to the 410 for 8 seconds. sure u can do 640 faster than 410, but after that u need to wait a long time to deal another 320, so the gun is inconsistent with how it does DMG. Plus, if u wanna play an auto reloader, just go for the prog 65, kran or the rino, they don't have the stupid "reserve shell" and are much more flexible than mino.

​@@tricky48I tried out 5 games with smv 64 and the 105 mm and my final verdict is: if the the 120 mm didn't exist, the tank would be good at best. There were a lot more moments I found myself in where I wished to go back to the 120 mm over sticking with the 105 mm, and where I did 4k and lost with the auto reloader, I could have got 5k and won with the single shot

@@fruchtdrink8949 Yup... agreed... I had a similar experience. I used both guns on the tier 7, too, and feel it's more of an "either/or" situation. But, for the tier 8, the 120 just performs so much better. 2900 DPM... 410 damage every 8.4 seconds, it's not at all comparable with anything else that has that level of armor. The "reverse" shell mechanic sucks... and drops the dpm of the 3 shell so far below what I consider good that I don't even consider it. For the tier IX and the Mino (which only have autoreloader options), the only reason they work, is because they have good enough damage per shot to make shooting 1 or 2 shells at a time, viable. It's difficult to manage it in the heat of battle, too... the draw of shooting that last shell is so tempting but is the wrong move 9 out of 10 times. Plus, you have to monitor the reload in the heat of battle so closely to make sure you don't accidentally shoot that last shell accidentally, and can cause mistakes that shouldn't be made. I got used to it, but they're (Tier IX SMV and Mino) more complicated than comparable tanks which makes me overlook them when looking for a fun tank to drive if not grinding.

also looking at blitzstars, the smv 64 has the best module/crew dmg of all tier 8 and tier 9 tanks with the 120 mm (which is the same as some tanks with 155 guns), and the 105 auto reloader doesn't have that luxury, so u will get to hit fuel tanks and ammo racks quite often and another reason to use the single shot

Ummm... yeah, the single shot gun is THE way to play the tier 8. It's borderline OP. Get on a ridge and very little will pen you, while you have amazing dpm with good pen to just butter through anything. No, TDs do not have much HP, but the CC 64 has plenty of armor and gun depression... and just like any hull down heavy, especially American heavies, sides and rear are vulnerable. No one is saying play it like an IS-7... but def play it 2nd line, sometimes front line, with your team to support your flanks and a way to cover your LFP while using your gun depression. It will dominate. If it was faster... then it would cross the borderline into OP territory, easily... but ONLY with the single shot gun.
