Ok. ive seen this everywhere: "he's overrated" "he just raps fast now, Em is lame and his lyrics are trash now" or (the best one that I die laughing at) "mmlp2 has no substance like Relapse did" To address all of that bullshit- First like RyuShogun11 said in his/her comment, just because its overrated doesn't mean its average 2nd quote is just something ppl commonly use as the excuse for it being bad, understand that just because its fast doesn't mean the lyrics he uses are complex and more technical than usual in this album, literally in Baby he has a message but choses to make it as technical as possible 3rd quote just pisses me off every time they say it, most people think that sing for the moment is some of his best work....why? probably because he blatantly speaks his mind and you feel you can relate so much to the song, right? So Annabelle Lee must be better than the Raven by that logic. no? well lets see, Lee had a simple lullaby style while telling a parable its a good poem, but The Raven is critically acclaimed for its technical style while still having a deep underlying message. The Raven is arguably Poe's best work during the Romantic era. And yet you think because his style is organic and technical its lame compared to his old work---- Hell Lose yourself was also critically acclaimed and yet it was a parable, it was for the fact that he told a story while rhyming every word that made it special! 4th is just people that are just blind to the point of his songs because he's using multiple syllables and alliteration and he's not plainly saying what he feels instead he's meticulous while still having a story to tell in each song listen to Stronger than I was or Brainless or Rhyme or Reason or even Monster or Beautiful Pain, especially Headlights I mean if you say that has no substance then you're just using bias confirmation by not trying to listen to the songs and just generalize his songs as a whole.
